I’m guessing the reduced price on the Horizon website accounts for the ability to use coupon codes to lower the price on the Tower site.

The sig four star 64 is a terrific first low wing airplane. Since you have already built a kit you might try building a four star 60- they go together very quickly.

I believe both hatches should be arranged like the hatch on the right side of the picture. ( left wing panel). There are pictures on pages 10 and 11 of the manual that show the flap linkages.

Have you considered the new top flite 1/7 scale arf instead of the giant scale? I assume it will be of similar quality to the giant scale, and you could probably get one flying for...
