RE: New SV-stuffing tube problem?

I actually shorten the motor shafts on my SV motors so I can run thrust bearings and still have a little clearance. 1/16 is pretty close, personally I'd cut it back a little.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

wow! 52 bucks?!? Might as well go Lipo at that price...
Interesting to know that Orion's are Grepow. Grepow are some of the best nimh's according to several top European FE boaters.

RE: Pro Boat Mini-V EP RTR

Somewhere earlier in this thread is a parts list and instructions for the .094 flex conversion which is what I run in both my mini V's and my MHZ Gecko. both my mini-v's were faster after the...

RE: Super V27 Motor Help

check the solder connections on the ESC-Motor connectors. I've seen a couple have a loose or poorly soldered wire/plug.

RE: Shaft cutting

yup...dremel is the tool. $75 gets you the Lithium Ion cordless and a bunch of useful bits. You'll use it for tons of stuff on your boat...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I agree w/ detox...x642 or gr42x55 will get you on plane quicker and still keep the system reliable. sharpen/balance/remove tongues if you can...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

minimum 20c
minimum 4000mah

I have both FlightPower and Elite.
IMO FlightPower are the best, but Elite's are less expensive and a negligible performance difference in the end.

RE: SV27 Water Cooling

both my stock SV and my modded SV rarely get over 100 degrees on any component. 120-130 if I run for a very long time...Motor magnets lose their strength over 170. Car motors are generally tuned to...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

there are pics in the earlier parts of this thread, as well as Grimracer's instructions.
350-400 grit will work...last 13 inches will work...I scuff mine all the way lengthwise with 220 grit...it's...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I think the post that decided it for me was one (maybe early in this thread - it was easily over a year ago..) that pomplebed wrote awhile ago.
He and his son have the same boat...identical setup,...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

sorry - didn't see that until now.

cheapbatterypacks.com - go to lithium products>lipoly battery packs>Elite
80 bucks a pack, but worth it...i think that is a really good deal on a 30c 4500mah...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

IME the boat squats more with the weight of Nimhs and thusly i prefer a CG a little further back with Nimh to ride a tad more loose...the extra few oz. allow for it. Not everyone likes the SV this...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

That looks too far forward for Nimhs. The 8 inch balance point is for Lipos. The packs can be back a bit more with Nimhs.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

that is usually an indicator that the CG is a touch too far forward. Too nose-heavy, so when it is in the air (from jumping a wake or wave) the nose wants to go down first and stuffs the boat into...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

...just save your money for Lipos and use up the Nimh's you've got...don't spend any more on Nimh packs.
You really don't need 8000mah, the runtime is really plenty with 4500-5000 mah. Besides,...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

IME this is not going to be optimal for this boat. It's going to be a wonky-handling boat with this setup.
A single 4S pack in the nose will be difficult to compensate for even if you use weight in...

RE: Mini Cat Racing USA vs Supervee

Gas = smelly, messy, noisy, slow, expensive (...at least the fuel), also doesn't jive with the "GREEN" trend that's so popular with the kids these days...
not to mention the stalling and milling...

RE: 5.5 mm bullets on every component?

I'd say stick with deans', but the 48mm prop on 14 cells sounds like it'll pull a few amps...I'm not familiar with the characteristics of the KB motors though.
I use 5.5mm's on everything, but you...

RE: Mini Cat Racing USA vs Supervee

It may look ridiculous, but it is a copy of a full size boat that is currently manufactured.[:'(] the whole batwing thing puts me off too.
Thanks for the input Taylor. I knew I could count on some...
