RE: H9 Showtime 4D electric conversion

I don't know that the 30-10 is too much, but I agree that the Actro should be plenty for the weight of this plane. I also agree with Joacim on using a 20x8 prop.

RE: H9 Showtime 4D electric conversion

nir, I just replaced an Actro 40-5 with an Pletti Xtra 30-10 in my H-9 Extra 260. The Actro pulled about 66 amps using either an APC-E 20x8 or 19x10 prop. Good aerobatics, but not quite unlimited...

RE: Ultra R/C Giles 202 UL 29%

Dick, would you please post what you did to "wildly lighten" your 260 in one of the 260 threads when it's done.

thanks,

RE: Extra 260 27% Hangar 9er

Spun, I did what Steve suggested. I just drilled a hole in a small square of 1/4" plywood that fit the locator pin tightly, then I didn't even glue it in, just positioned the wing and used a couple...

RE: 3 or 4 blade Prop for Plettenberg?

Jim, any issues with how the motor started or throttle response with the CC HV controller? Do you know what your static amp draw was at full throttle? What programable settings did you use on the...

RE: 3 or 4 blade Prop for Plettenberg?

Thanks Adam. It looks like the TT Adapter kit will make life a lot easier. I'll get one on order. Norm

RE: 3 or 4 blade Prop for Plettenberg?

Adam, I'd like to see those pictures. I just received my 30-10. I wish they had used an adapter like the Actro. Norm

RE: IMAC "E" plane in 2 meter size.

Ah, finally someone has this plane. Paul, I'd be very interested in the final weight. Who did you get the kit from?

RE: Extra 260 27% Hangar 9er

I have a wing twist problem, but have not experienced the snap being discussed. My elevator high rate is what is given in the manual as low rate, then my low rate is about 66% of that. When I...

RE: Pattern plane conversion

Scott, this is the first post I've read where someone is actually using one of the new CC HV controllers. Did you set it up with the Phoenix Link? Do you have any starting issues with the...

RE: Extra 260 27% Hangar 9er

I think I have 6 flights on mine, all on pavement and no hard landings. No sign of gear problems yet. Mine weighs 13 lbs.

RE: Hangar 9 - Extra 260 - Electric Conversion

Nice video and great flying, thanks for sharing. Have you done any precision IMAC type maneuvers with it? If so, how'd it do? Mine had some wing twist and misalignment but I'm working on it.

RE: 27% 260 questions

The cables are crossed. This is electric powered, (Actro 40-5), and I really need to reduce tail weight even more. I'm thinking of moving the elevator servos forward also if I can come up with a...

RE: 27% 260 questions

Mike, I have four questions at this time:

Do you have suggested control throws for IMAC flying, I'm not interested in 3D?

Should I slot the rear former to remove the bend in the pull-pull...

RE: Extra 260 27% Hangar 9er

For those that used the pull-pull rudder, what did you do about the bend in the cables at the rear former? Did you go in and slot the former, or just leave the bends in the cable. Seems to me this...

RE: Hangar 9 - Extra 260 - Electric Conversion

Well, I'll try this again. I just wrote a long write up on mine then apparently lost it before posting.

I just found this thread as I don't monitor 3D forums. I'm mostly interested in...

RE: 27% 260 questions

Bill, thanks for the link, I'll check it out. I haven't had a landing gear problem yet, but only have about 5 flights on it, and (blush), I've greased every landing so far.

I guess Mike is off...

RE: 27% 260 questions

Bill, the Staudacher originally had the same power system that is now in the Extra 260, but I recently put a Neu motor 1515/2Y, 6.7:1 gearbox in it. The Neu motor will turn a 24x12 prop and puts out...

RE: 27% 260 questions

Bill, I started to fly IMAC Sportsman this year. This will probably be a back up plane as it's heavier and has a little less power than my TroyBuilt Staudacher of the same size. I'm not sure how...

RE: 27% 260 questions

Bill, I'm using plain old Robart Incidence meters. I have two so it makes it easy to compare one wing to another, or the root to the tip without moving the meters. As for correcting the incidence,...

RE: Extra 260 wing incidence

Thanks, looks like there is a little more to it than that. I've now discovered there is about 2 degrees twist in the right wing.

RE: 27% 260 questions

Looking into this further, I got a longer bar for my incidence meter so I can check all the way to the wing root. I find about a 2 degree twist in the right wing. It's near zero incidence at the...

Extra 260 wing incidence

Does anyone here know what the wing incidence would normally be on an Extra 260. I Have a H-9 27% ARF and the left and right wing incidence is not the same. Should I adjust both to zero, or should...

RE: 27% 260 questions

I had about 1/8" right aileron deflection for level flight trim. I found the right wing to have nearly 1 degree of positive incidence and the left wing to have nearly 1 degree negative incidence. I...

I don't think I've ever posted pictures here before so I hope I get it right. The Lipoly pack is the black object under the motor. The paper tube houses the speed control with the opening directly...
