RE: F27 STRYKER Part 7 : The Basics To The Darkest of Dark

Don't worry I'm still around. It's been a very busy couple of weeks for me and I don't see me being able to get the stryker up in the next month or so. I'm pretty sure that 153 mph isn't going to be...

You use a program that measure the shift in frequency (doppler shift) as the aircraft passes.

RE: F27 STRYKER Part 7 : The Basics To The Darkest of Dark

Nice work Moparmyway. My build is very slow at the moment but I'll get there. I'm not sure I'll be able to bungee at the club field but I will find out. I don't doubt that the eagletree is fairly...

RE: F27 STRYKER Part 7 : The Basics To The Darkest of Dark

Richard39,
The cheapest way is to disconnect the middle wire on the throttle plug that connects the ESC to the reciever and tape it out of the way. If you are not running 2.4Ghz though I would...

RE: F27 STRYKER Part 7 : The Basics To The Darkest of Dark

You callin' me out boy! :) . I have heard of 1 stryker faster than mine at 147mph though it wasn't confirmed neither is mine really though I posted it as it was nowhere near optimal setup in the...

RE: F27 STRYKER Part 7 : The Basics To The Darkest of Dark

Most of us pulling big amps are using large bullet connectors I believe. Deans are meant to be good to 100 amps though I really don't thrust them or rather my skills at using them. The main issue I...

RE: F27 STRYKER Part 7 : The Basics To The Darkest of Dark

I think I have been misunderstood. My throws are 12mm and they are only that high to keep the nose up at launch and landing. I'm pretty sure if you had a stock weight stryker (mine is nearly 4 lbs)...

RE: F27 STRYKER Part 7 : The Basics To The Darkest of Dark

The wing is shortened by the same amount that the control surface is longer so there is no more surface area than there is on a stock stryker. The idea was to reduce the angle of deflection (and...

RE: F27 STRYKER Part 7 : The Basics To The Darkest of Dark

well aware of that mate. It's all about making sure you get maximum travel of the servo when you are at you maximum throw to decrease the resulting torque on the servo. Also gives you better...

RE: F27 STRYKER Part 7 : The Basics To The Darkest of Dark

RE: F27 STRYKER Part 7 : The Basics To The Darkest of Dark

Correct me if I'm wrong though won't the CC80 handle 100 amps fairly easily? I really don't think it will be that hard to launch, maybe mode1 is easier :). It really surprises me that the 2800...

RE: F27 STRYKER Part 7 : The Basics To The Darkest of Dark

how much does the 3850 weigh and what C rating is it? I have flown my glassed stryker on a 700gram pack though it was a handful at launch (hand launch). A 3850 4S should be around the 350-400 gram...

RE: F27 STRYKER Part 7 : The Basics To The Darkest of Dark

Running 4S will make your amps increase. The higher voltage will make the motor try to turn faster which increases force on the prop, force is amps. With the right motor you can decrease your amps...

RE: F27 STRYKER Part 7 : The Basics To The Darkest of Dark

You really should put a meter on that thing. My brother in law has a het 2w 20 on 3S and it pulls 65 amps on 4.7x4.7. His motor is only 3400kv. If you are not pulling very high amps it's because...

CP, about the prop exploding..I'm pretty sure it's out of spec at 36k rpm :) . The pylon props aren't though I don't think.

RE: F27 STRYKER Part 7 : The Basics To The Darkest of Dark

I have a new video up. It's old footage and the camera's zoom button was broken. I had to do a digital zoom in vegas and some serious noise filtering so you could even see the plane on youtube. ...

RE: F27 STRYKER Part 7 : The Basics To The Darkest of Dark

Hey k2, how heavy is your stryker? Do you have a video of a launch you could somewhere for me to look at? I hand launch my stryker at 1.7kg (nearly 4 lbs) without too much trouble though I have had...

RE: F27 STRYKER Part 7 : The Basics To The Darkest of Dark

I really don't think it matters which you do, you should get the same spark either way. I do have some more footage of my stryker doing low passes which I will have to put together...I never really...

RE: F27 STRYKER Part 7 : The Basics To The Darkest of Dark

Hey RRRaptor that looks awesome. I doubt the little bit missing from the inside end of the surface will cause much of an issue. How much do they weigh? I am wondering how it compares to balsa and...

RE: F27 STRYKER Part 7 : The Basics To The Darkest of Dark

let us know how it goes mate. I would really like to see you try a 6.5x6.5 pylon prop, they are sooo much better than the APC e props. You will however notice a very nice jump in speed with the 6S...

RE: F27 STRYKER Part 7 : The Basics To The Darkest of Dark

There will be a massive difference assuming the 16/25/3 can handle 6S with a 6x4. I would guess at it being in the 80-90 amp range static.

Edit : It's probably not that high on second thought. ...
