Hi

The engine is now working perfectly. The best position for the idle screw was when it covered exactly half of the hole. Using new Contest 10 fuel and a new Enya No.3 glow plug helped as well....

Many thanks for the helpful replies - I was a bit worried about the varnish simply disolving with either water or fuel. I tend to run on either GN5 or contest 10 fuel, nothing hotter than that, so...

Yes I have flown it - about half a dozen times. Although it has always been when the wind is slow & from grass. I did have one bad landing & had to glue a bit of the wing tip back....
