I had this happen to a Volcano SV and the gears were clear. ONly difference was this was in dirt. If the gears are cleared out, also clean out the bearings in the transmission the best you can.

thanks for the link zack. i have read on this one. it seems good and much more torque. i likethat the hitec has the metal gears. i think that will be a requirment.

from what I have read on manuals they even say to check your engine screws after EVERY RUN.
My advice would be to go through your car and blue loctite (or any removable threadlocker) all screws...
