In the back yard my boys can bash the crap out of those XTM's...

WOOOO HOOOO !!!!!! That was it. I swapped out the (2) 1 ohm/10 watt resisters and put in a single 10 ohm/10 watt resister and viola, IT WORKS !!!

The "clicking" sounds like internal arcing. Very faint. The general source of the sound is either coming from the large capacitors...
