Any thoughts on what motor would fit best here? At 5his point I do need to buy a new battery so can go 2 or 3 cell.

I see some some fairly inexpensive “SCT” motors on line. Not sure if that’s...

Just reread my thread from 11 years ago confirming that I installed a mamba max pro esc and 4600 castle motor. I don’t have a big lips now to test if it even turns on. If it does then not sure...

Found an old Firestorm 10T in my garage

I bought this thing back in nov 2009. For some reason back then I changed the motor to a mamba max pro 4600 kv.

I remember driving it on very very sandy roads near the beach and the motor...

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

I think I'm gonna switch to the 18t pinion and see if that drops my motor temps.

Also, I slung a tire completely off the rim. I'm thinking if I duct tape the inside it'll limit the ballooning...

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

Ok I fixed the steering radius issue as you suggested. No problem there now. The power is tremendous, the motor temp might have gotten up there on me cause after that first full bttery run with a...

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

I am tempted to ask how you had thanksgiving a month ago. Canada thing?
Anyway, so I did the first brief run with the efire. Initial thoughts are mixed. It feels very smooth but almost too...

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

Well, the soldering process was being a pain last night but I finally got all the connectors on and got it fired up and went through the quick MMP controller setup. Just a matter of flipping it on...

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

Um, what do you mean by calibrate the controller? You mean the transmitter? Do what to it? Honestly, I'm a bit uneasy about it being a regular channel type setup instead of a spread spectrum...

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

Good morning guys. I have to say I'm surprised that noone posted a comment on my dumb move of taking the whole car apart only to find grease in the diff and trans already. ha

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

Also, I got the motor installed along with the esc. I just have to solder on my battery leads now and I'm good to go.

Do I need to program the esc or should it just work when I get some juice...

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

I think we are talking about the same motor. I'm simply sayng this is what's printed right on the motor. Here are a few pictures of what I ordered from Tower.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

I missed that post. castle has got a serious issue if they are advertising RIGHT ON the product that you can hook a 4S pack to it, and then state they wont even warranty it if someone does and it...

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

Nitro, I don't know for certain that I can put in a 4S or for how long it would last. I am just saying that the CC 4600 and MMP combo I ordered came yesterday and its printed on the side of the...

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

Thats true Nitro, however, most lightbulbs are inside some globe, near your ceiling and sitting still all the time, whereas that motor and ESC are moving at high velocity, with lots of airflow and...

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

Ok, that makes sense.

My packs can peak at about 120A. and are 11.1V

So, that yields over 1300 watts which is about 1.80 hp. Not bad at all.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

Lastly, does anyone know how to calculate HP on these little motors? I was just curious what kind of power these things really put out.

If 744 Watts is 1HP, and V=IR so 11.1=80A*R? I'm...

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

Also, I'm hoping I can find longer battery hold down screws/lugs. Whatever they are called. I like how they are doing that, but I need longer ones to hold my 8000 3S down. Might can just drill the...

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

Yea, I figured the regular brushed motor and esc would not be much value to anyone modding up a car since its not rally an upgrade from anything notable.

On a side note, my excitement just...

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

I paid 276 US shipped for the flux. I paid 180 US shipped for the cc 4600 and mmp and I am hoping to be able to get around 110 for the 5700 and sidewinder which gives me a net of about 345 US for...

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread

I didnt wanna take any chance that any other part of it was better to handle the brushless power, and I figured I'd have an easier time selling a pretty nice brushless motor and esc.
