Interesting. I have used the 7c, 8fg, 14sg and 6ex over 5 years. I have flown well over a thousand flights with almost every Futaba FASST RX made including most knockoffs. I've powered them with...

You need to be very careful in this situation. Determining what is careless and wreckles is not clearly defined and is very subjective. Acting as a CD for the AMA at a sanctioned event you are...

This is so complicated it's easy. First of all, favoring a left turn in vehicles and many things we do in life is learned from a very young age in our country. Generally speaking, we sit on the...

RE: Northstar mods - Tell me what you think

My next stunt will be removing some nose weight. The CG is now located an inch or so forward of the step without fuel. I added weight slowly until I found it comfortable and reasonably stable to...

RE: Northstar mods - Tell me what you think

The takeoff run varied as I changed the tab angles. The shortest was about 200 feet in a light 2-3 knot direct crossword. I have a feeling that a different prop will improve that further. It's a...

RE: Northstar mods - Tell me what you think

Well I have an update on the 8 lb. Northstar that couldn't get off of glassy water. I went to the lake today armed with .025 aluminum, various sheet metal tools and tape. I stood around with...

RE: Is this really necessary?

I think you should go to a club meeting and protest their rules if they really require a two week checkout for an experienced flyer. I have no problem with a club asking for a proficiency check...

RE: Vailly Aviation Hawker Hurricane Build Thread

Okay. I get that. Just to let you know the same thing happened to the Sea Fury. That would be noticeable and annoying. The tail actually used to be straight, but a year after the fuse was sheeted...

RE: Vailly Aviation Hawker Hurricane Build Thread

Btw Daddy Sam

My Vailly Sea Fury should be flying by the end of the year...well at least by next summer. I'm not going crazy with scale detail, but it will be around at a few NW events. Maybe...

RE: Vailly Aviation Hawker Hurricane Build Thread

Daddy,

I'm sad to see you had to break off your tail. I'm shocked that there is a belief that a slight error in tail incidence is going to make a significant enough difference in flight...

RE: Horizon, DX18 and new TX choice

Bob,

I just realized I was kind of missing the point on your use of conditions in your example. I get the trim thing now. What I do is fly the plane and trim for the different conditions...

RE: Horizon, DX18 and new TX choice

Bob,

There is a mix available in the 14sg and 8fg super to handle you flap situation very easily. I use it frequently. It might take one or two more simple mixes to handle the speed brake...

RE: Horizon, DX18 and new TX choice

Siclick,

I would go with the 14sg. It's a great radio. Telemetry and Sbus are expensive with Futaba though. I don't use either so I dont care. I'm just wondering why you even want...

RE: Northstar mods - Tell me what you think

I will try it this weekend. My plane will certainly show a difference if there is one. I already have elevons on a switch. I can turn them off and on. For some reason I never tried what you are...

RE: Futaba 8FG super -servo speed adjustment?

I'm pretty sure I saw servo speed in the glider mixing somewhere in the 8fg super. I'm sure you could figure out a way to use it on a different application. I don't have my transmitter with me or I...

RE: Cost of glow fuel

This is a funny thread. I've been hearing whining about glow fuel prices since I was a kid. I just paid $15 per gallon for 15% nitro yesterday. 23 years ago, when I was 12 years old, I had to save...

RE: Northstar mods - Tell me what you think

Thanks,
I'm starting to get motivated to rip the covering off my NS and get crazy with a rebuild. I have a lot of ideas now and want to try some things that will require starting over. I would...
