Cool. I sprayed it with a little WD40 thinking there might have been some crap stuck between it and the shaft. I guess I'll try it again. That mini gear puller looks like a pretty cool tool...

I tried prying behind it with a small screw driver but I didn't want to damage the motor. I may have to get a puller.

Rustler VXL pinion gear?

Has anyone replaced the stock pinion gear for the optional one yet on the Rustler VXL? I can't get the stock one off even with the set screw completly out!

O.K. I think I got it. The LN5014 has input voltage of 11-15 volts. It must be compatible with a car battery. The house current one is $30 more.

Lol, your probably right.
However, I was told that the cells in the Lipo packs have a tendency to charge at different rates causing them to discharge at differrent rates. My ESC has a low voltage...

A good LiPo battery is still $150 which makes that Maxamps combo still look attractive. I still have some learning and shopping to do I guess. Why are these balancers so expensive?

Thanks again. That looks like a nice cheap way to go. I guess you link it in betweeen your LiPo battery and the charger, right? All I would need is a balancer.

Thanks. I guess I need to do a little research before I by the Stampede. The Traxxas website shows what different batteries can accomplish but I don't want to rush into buying a Lipo battery set up...

I just ran it again with the slipper adjusted as tight as it would go and it works fine. Either I'm not adjusting it correctly or it just doesn't work right with that metal gear.
