New Paint for an old cat.

I wanted to part with this old Stryker F-41 cat for some time now, but wasn't getting any action in the current state it was in. So I gave myself one afternoon to do any needed body work and "pimp...

RE: Any experience running a gas boat from a real boat?

I've personally never had any issues running from my boat and actually prefer it most times. I sometimes take them with me when we troll for trout/salmon in Lake Ontario. It helps pass the time...

RE: Muffler question

I've had no problems tuning on either of the headers posted...[sm=confused.gif] The same pipes I use on my WTC headers work on the Deep-Vee and Wrap-Forwards for me. Even if you weren't "spot-on"...

RE: what is the quietest tuned pipe out there?

I have three of the Cooper pipes, but just can't really get them to produce. You have to be careful as they were making two different length pipes depending on what header you were using (WTC or...

RE: I'm disgusted

No apology needed... many of the Chinese boats do ship with those cheaper clones. The only reason I mentioned that one was the quality I found of it first hand, and the shipping price to AU for...

RE: I'm disgusted

Not sure what you're after but I just started running one of these that I got as hull + hardware, and dropped a stock Zen into. It's without a doubt the fastest "stocker" I have and the quality of...

RE: Muffler question

You're defeating the purpose of a mod motor (or cylinder kit) if you stick with the canister. Heck, just getting a tuned pipe on your present motor will give you increased performance.

RE: Show us your man cave!

Was in the shop yesterday and snapped a pic of the corner with the most boats I could fit in one pic. Too bad more of them are "in the works" as opposed to RTR!

RE: Aerommarine Stinger Rigger

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. I picked it up cheap a few years back as something fun and different to play around with. I'll take a closer look at her, especially the places you mentioned,...

RE: Aerommarine Stinger Rigger

Thanks Scott- That's what I was afraid of! I'm just looking for a "fast" boat and thought this might give me the speed my scale-looking hulls lack a little. Maybe the QD I have will be better...

RE: Aerommarine Stinger Rigger

Just curious as we have one of these new and un-drilled in the shop right now... What speeds would you expect with one of these hulls (Stock Zen/RCMK or a QDHT specifically)?

Thanks.

RE: Need engine I.D. please

I'd guess Fuji-Imvac???

http://www.canyonhobbies.com/v/vspfiles/photos/FJIBT-24EI-2.jpg

It has the usual 45 degree Fuji plug and the cooling fins are similar to this 24cc.

RE: Please Help Me IDENTIFY This Boat!!!!!!!!1

I'm not really sure Dan. The only ones I know of that were 2-bolt and are now being produced in 4-bolt are the Sikk's. Hmmm... maybe the older G2D's were 2-bolt? I had one and sold it and can't...

RE: Please Help Me IDENTIFY This Boat!!!!!!!!1

They are all 4-bolt. 230's are 2-port and 231/260's are 4-port. The best way I can tell the difference is in the cut-outs in the cooling fins. The newer 4-ports have round holes to access the 2...

RE: Decal Sources For RC Boats?

lol... I was just pointing out that there is a sizable investment.

That's like saying "they're easy enough to do if you have $3-5K (1,927-3,212 GBP) in equip", or me saying "modded cylinders...

;) Well said!

Oh, and Mart, I'm not at all asking you to apologize for what YOU consider money well spent. We each have our own tastes and decide what is worthy of being on our often cherished...

RE: Decal Sources For RC Boats?

That rests my case too. We're obviously talking about two different things. Simple 1/2 color vectors scaled to a size you need should be rather inexpensive.

I still stick by the quality of the...

RE: Please Help Me IDENTIFY This Boat!!!!!!!!1

I agree with the hull. All hardware including mounts appears to be Aeromarine. I'd say the motor is a 230.

RE: build question (dumb one)

I've seen people glue and silicone them in place before. I prefer to cinch a zip-tie (cable-tie, tie-wrap, or whatever you want to call them) around them and secure them through a hole placed in my...

Mart, my comment wasn't that you personally weren't getting a good deal on graphics... it was about your statement, lol. :D There are enough people out there thinking that graphics for an R/C boat...

RE: Decal Sources For RC Boats?

A decent cutter, software, and an assortment of vinyl can run you well over $5k. You can drop another $1-3K on Vectors or invest the time to do it all from scratch. Cheap vinyl that will look like...

RE: Getting back into boats

Just going off boats I've had/still have, I really liked my Aeromarine 50" Apache. I still have 2 now. To me, it has a very scale appearance (more so than the 56" in my opinion), has a large enough...

RE: Expresscraft Thunderbolt Twin RCMK Build

I agree... beautiful build but the flush pick-ups coming in from the bottom would have been a great idea.

Can't wait to see a vid of it running! Nice work :)

RE: RIO 51Z more trouble!!!

That is really bad. I can't believe after your problem somebody wouldn't make sure the next was perfect. I'd refuse it from the hobby store and demand my money back. The best luck I had with gas...
