RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Venom:

Just as important as the CG is step placement of the float. The step needs to be right at the CG of the plane or up to .5 inch behind the CG. If the step is forward of the CG the plane...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Well that got me to thinking....usually not a good thing. So today I loaded up my T---T with fuel, set the timer on my Spektrum DX7 Tx and took off with the intent of seeing how long I could fly her...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

5 or more CG advantage
better 3D flying, hovering, inverted flatspins, harriers etc etc

5 or more CG disadvantage
not as stable in flight for just cruising the sky

Start at 4...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

I have two T---T's...one I just plain wore out and is on a shelf. I have a Saito 72 in mine and it fit like a glove. The instructions have to be some of the best out there(unlike some of the direct...

Hanger 9 Twist 40 3D best bang for buck?

I have two of these and frankly have not found anything else that compares for $90. I have two edge 540's, Cessna 182, Neptune, GP 40 Venus and a deceased GP Cap232....none of them have been better...

RE: Edge 540 25, 45" initial review

Chevy:

AUW came in at 4lbs 15 oz...not bad considering the weight of the motor alone is 1lb 12oz. I went with Jr micro servos on all but the elevator...standard size for elevator. The micros...

RE: Edge 540 25, 45" initial review

Ran 6 tanks through the 540 today with the Saito .62....awesome. The plane does blindingly fast rolls and great inverted flat spins. Achilles heel are the loops. Toned down the throws and went 45%...

RE: CMPro Cessna 182

I have one that I converted to floats...it flies fairly well but suffers from high wing loading. Without the extra weight of the floats I am sure it would be a great flier. Easy to put together if...

RE: Edge 540 25, 45" initial review

I am supposed to get mine this Friday and am putting in a Saito .62...won't my maiden flight be interesting. At least I probably won't need to add any lead to the nose.

Neptune CG?

Those of you that are flying the Neptune, is the 4" CG in the instructions accurate? I am going to maiden my Neptune over the July 4th holidays and thought I had better check with the experts. The...

RE: LT-40 float conversion -- question about options

I can tell you about the plane fun floats....I have them on a Cessna 182 I converted to floats. They come in at 12 oz each for the size you are looking at, they come with great quality mounting...

RE: Which Saito for a Neptune?

Is the Saito 4 stroke not a good choice for the Neptune?...I am open to other options. I am flying at a lake and I don't want to upset my neighbors so I typically use 4 strokes because of this.

Which Saito for a Neptune?

I decided to order a Neptune to give my Cessna 182 float plane some companionship. I have two motors available to put in it....Saito 62 or Saito 72. Any thoughts on which one might be the better...

RE: Twist 40 3D with Saito engine cut out problem

Bingo. Problem solved. Ran three tanks through it with no issues. I still don't know how the vent tube rotated 90 degrees. Thanks for all the advice.

RE: Twist 40 3D with Saito engine cut out problem

After taking the whole front of the plane apart I found that the vent tube inside the tank had turned 90 degrees and was no longer pointing towards the top of the tank but to the side of the tank. I...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

I have a Spektrum DX7 in my 40 Twist and it fits with no problem. I just used two sided foam tape and stuck the second receiver(it is VERY small) to the inside right wall. The main receiver fits...

Twist 40 3D with Saito engine cut out problem

Having a problem with this combo recently. After the fuel tank reaches around half full (or half empty for you pessimists) hard up elevator manuevers cause the engine to die. Full down elevator...

RE: DX7 in a floatplane, anyone tried it?

Have it in all my planes....love the model match feature. Just waterproof the receiver and let 'er rip. It has worked well in my Cessna 182 that I converted to floats. The servos that come with it...

Newbie here. Used to fly RC planes 20 years ago and have decided to give heli's a shot. Bought a Blade CX a few weeks ago, crashed it a couple times during the first two days. Well, I feel very...
