I've got a few r/c's and just bash. I just got a react recently and I love it! Super light, comfortable, performance, upgradeable and the best part... no antenna in my face! :D

I just went through the same thing (Maxx or Savage). Once i got to look at them side by side, the choice was easy.
The savage is quite a bit smaller and a lot lower than the maxx. Good for going...

yup, my mlst would get stuck and spin tires way too easy! I ended up replacing the center diff w/ the losi ball diff and the f/r w/ the viscous diffs. That helped alot but it still doesn't climb near...
