RE: is a mini lst any good?

I bought a Mini-Raminator with missing servos, which I had no idea of how bad and expensive they were. It cost me more to get rid of it than I bought it for.

RE: Official Hobby Zone

Thanks! And it was a good deal IMO - $85 for the plane (including lipo) and $27 for a replacement esc. I haven't had a chance to fly it yet, but it's running great, and the body, err, fuselage and...

RE: Official Hobby Zone

Woo hoo! I got my eBay Super Cub today! It was one of the "parts" Super Cubs that are on eBay for about $80 or less shipped, if you're patient with your bidding. It was in very good shape, and...

RE: Official Hobby Zone

It's the blue version. I've done a little reading and at this point it's probably better to just get the replacement esc/rx combo for around $28. I'm pretty good at tinkering so it probably won't...

RE: Official Hobby Zone

I'm back! My first attempt at RC planes a few years ago was unsatisfying. I tried a GWS E-Starter which I hand built and only got one nervous flight out of it. I then bought a Parkzone Cessna...

RE: ezrun mini T

The biggest problem with the Mini T (at least the older ones) is that once you replace one electronic part, you usually have to replace all of the electronics. To run the EZRun combo, you're going...

RE: low voltage cut outs for lipos

I've used them on my 2s batteries. No problems. Just make sure you don't stay too far away from hearing range and you should be okay.

RE: There is no reason to stay with a brushed system anymore.

I pretty much agree with Metallover. Yes, there are a few brushed motors that will out perform some of the lower level brushless systems, but the lack of maintenance and the ability to use lipo...

RE: Official Mini-T Thread

Granted there is a trade off sometimes going cheap, but the EZRun has a pretty good reputation with us "early adopters" and now you can even buy them from a U.S. based retailer, with a three-day...

RE: Official Mini-T Thread

J0EC00L - Welcome back. As much as I like to travel, there's nothing like the USA.

Glad to hear you got a Traxxas mini. While I love my Minis and Propulses, I'll never argue that the Traxxas...

RE: Dead Hamster

Well it's done. We had the funeral this past Tuesday so that made it 13 days in the fridge before he was put in the ground. The fridge was pretty cold so he kept well, but the thirteen days was...

RE: Official Mini-T Thread

That looks great! Way better than the stock body. How's the Fireball working for you?

RE: What's a pet worth to you??

Funny I was thinking about the same thing after the hamster died last week. About a year ago it got sick and I was going to take it to the vet. The cost would have been high, but I think I would...

RE: Dead Hamster

Not crude - that's exactly the way I thought of it - food will usually last at least ten days in the fridge - and in a way hamster kinda/sorta are food. And again, I think your right about freezing...

Dead Hamster

I don't know why I'm posting this here but what the heck.

My daughter's hamster died last night (he was three, which is about how long they usually live). She wants to bury him but we're not...

RE: parents say no to lipo...

Here's something you can try. Try to get your parents interested in your hobby. You'll be surprised that they may get interested just to spend some time with you. Once they're hooked (or at least...

RE: Who here is tried of Electric rc

I only run lipos for now, but I may try nitros in the future, partially for the fun and challenge. The main issue with me for nitro is that the noise limits my run times, especially on weekdays. I...

RE: i hope i dun make wrong choice for my rc18T ~

Ha, ha, I thought I was the only one who had that attitude! I thought about racing but I already have a stressful real job so when I PLAY with my RC cars, I just like to punch it and go, sometimes...

RE: Why do some esc have receivers?

$99? I've never spent more than $50 for any of my cars, LOL. I call it the "eBay Kit" method. Like studysession posted, the best way of dealing with these cars IMO is to buy used as cheap as you...

RE: i hope i dun make wrong choice for my rc18T ~

From what I'm told, the 25a isn't a big difference over the 18a. As far as temps, just be prepared to gear up/down to keep it running right. Again, you won't lose much performance since the 7800kv...

RE: Why do some esc have receivers?

I didn't mind so much the fact that the Losi esc/receiver were combined; the bigger issue was that the servo was proprietary (four wire v. standard three wire).

RE: i hope i dun make wrong choice for my rc18T ~

I actually have a couple of those "no-name" combos, exactly like the one you posted, from the exact same seller, running them in my Pro-Pulse T100s. I got them for less than $25 each by careful...

RE: MINI-T question

I agree. I'm running stock diff and clutch with no problems. Oil shocks, on the other hand, improved handling tremendously, especially with brushless. As far as tierod upgrades, good idea, but I'd...

RE: Official Mini-T Thread

Venom Fireball 370p is a good choice on the cheap ($10), but now would be a good time to go brushless since you're running lipo, specifically a EZRun combo for $50. That way you don't have to worry...
