RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!

Tony,

Could you or someone else suggest a possible substitution for a N1448 diode? Crap Shack doesn't have them.

Thank you,

RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!

Sorry to switch a subject here, but I was unable to get a reply via PM from the mod's originator, so I'll try the open forum.

Those who have been to AA toolbox have seen the "slow turn mod." I...

RE: Futaba R5014DPS receiver suspect for eurosport loss of control

Hi guys,

It is entirely possible that the receiver just went bad. In this failure mode (non lockout related), I am very comfortable in saying that the G3 is no more failure prone than any other...

RE: Futaba R5014DPS receiver suspect for eurosport loss of control

Gentlemen,

I'm the Team Futaba Pilot that Bob Klenke referred to in his last post. I did the intial testing is the US on the antenna clipping procedure in a helicopter that was experiencing...

RE: carnauba wax

As I recall, the real deal for FRP mold release is polyvinyl alcohol. A search on the web should find you your source.

Does anyone recognize this Schluter?

I had a Champion in 1986.

If you can keep the tail boom in place with the hose clamp affiar, the model is almost indestructable in the air. BOMB PROOF clutch and auto unit, all ali head, flat...

9251 servo

No.

The 9251 is a ultra high frequency servo designed to work with the 601 gyro.

You could use the 9253 digital servo or the analog 9205 from the Futaba line, or the 8700G(PCM only) digital or...

vigor cs or x-cell 1004

The Fury FAI is nearly a reality. The new model will feature a revised push rod arrangement which makes all three rods up to the swash equal in length. Expected metal bellcranks, metal tail group,...

Clutch and engine alignment?

Optimum gear mesh is obtained by setting the lash with a thin piece of paper (I use weekely magazine newsprint) on the LOW (NOT high) spot on the gear. This will create a slight bind in the high...

Clutch and engine alignment?

The clutch assembly/bell/pinion should be aligned parallel to the mainshaft. Tilting the bell/pinion assembly causes unequal distribution of load between the maingear and clutch pinion and can result...

Clutch and engine alignment?

Take the motor out of the equation to begin with.

Set the mesh of the clutch to maingear as it should be and with the clutch assembly running parallel to the mainshaft.

The design of the gasser...

Digital with 240 ??

That last post is pretty accurate. The greatest performance increases come when the 9253 is installed, whether in high frame rate or not. Adding the high frame rate makes a good thing even better.

Mystery Helicopter

Worse, Paul.

I think that model predates the Heliboy and might be a HeliBaby. Fixed pitch and all.

The ONLY reason to EVER even CONSIDER buying that model would be to put it on the mantle as a...

MA XCell 30

The weight increase with the stacked frames is insignificant at worst. About the only thing to account for the increase in weight is the little ali spacers and blocks and a few extra bolts. That'll...

MA XCell 30

The current 30 kit is a stacked frame design; the bent frames are long gone. Over the years, some extra ball bearings and one piece balls from the big models have been added to the kit.

It's still...

X-Cell Pro 2K? I am not sure what model I have!

Kevin,

That 90 tooth gear will fit, but you're going to have to do some shimming, or fiddle with the other set of motor mount holes in the side frames OR just get the motor mount from the ST...

X-Cell Pro 2K? I am not sure what model I have!

It seems like you have a "robbed" ProII . The stock head with that model was the all metal c-clip head. The head you are describing is like the one that comes with the ST series kit. You will still...

X-Cell Pro 2K? I am not sure what model I have!

Well, the model is no more recent than a ProII (the lineage goes Pro, ProII, ProIIWC, ProIIK) , based on the maingear and the clutch assembly.

Is the fuel tank a Nalgene bottle like the Fury uses...

X-Cell Pro 2K? I am not sure what model I have!

Describe the taill rotor assembly AND tell me whether the main gear is black or white (slipper vs. constant drive). 9.5 ratio gears were on the earlier models, but that could have easily been swapped...

Webra Engine In a Fury Extreme ?

Not stupid at all.

For now, you should get the OS 8.18 ratio kit. With the coming YS 91, we might see a ratio kit for 7.9-8.0, which is even closer to optimum for the Webra, from what I've read....

caliber tail rotor serve mnt

A Caliber at our local field had the problem. What I suggested was to clean everything up an reassemble the parts with a bit of "GOOP" between the boom and the mount halves. Doing so took care of the...

Gasser head question.

If you drop your tail blade length from stock to 95mm, you can run 700mm blades with no problems. The Gamma 700mm blades that MA brings in are a good value. They can be had from the various dealers...
