RE: 5 new plans...

Here's a pix of the fuse sides cut. I still have to cut the rear out to accomodate the horizontal stabilizer. A little trick I do is, when they are flat like this, put them on their sides, bottom's...

RE: 5 new plans...

These pix shows how former #3 had to be cut a little different on the bottom than what was called for on the plans to accomodate the 2S1P 300 mah li-po.

The first one shows the plan and the...

RE: 5 new plans...

Here are a couple of pix illustrating what I mean by the '+' and the 'X' motor mounting orientation.

The first picture, head-on, shows the best way to mount this particular motor. On the first...

RE: 5 new plans...

Well, the plans, I don't think, showed any dowels.

I was sort of going to try the 'tenon and screw' method to hold it down. For some reason I have rotten luck in finding proper-sized rubber...

RE: 5 new plans...

Ok, I'll post some hopefully tonight.

A few questions...the sheeting on the wing, is it 1/16 balsa or ply? I sheeted it so far with ply, and it seems very strong, but I think it's a bit heavy. ...

RE: 5 new plans...

I mounted the brushless motor behind the firewall\former #1. I had to make sure that the screw pattern for it was in a 'cross' pattern instead of an 'X' pattern due to the motor leads. I actually...

RE: 5 new plans...

Just some quick stats so far:

I got a scale, and weighed what I had so far: 2 servo's, the brushless motor, esc, about 75% completed wing, fuse sides, 3 of the 4 formers, and 300mah li-po...

RE: 5 new plans...

Just an update...

I finished most of the main part of the wing. I just have to finish sheeting one side of it and put in a few stringers. I still have to cut out the wing tips, aileron's, TE...

RE: 5 new plans...

W.A.S.P.S-Flyer,

Be careful when printing the .pdf files. make sure it is not set to scaling (see something like 'fit to page' or 91%), usually found in the page setup or printer settings. You...

RE: 5 new plans...

Ok guys,

A quick update.

No, I haven't given up, just been 'distracted' by other things.

I have managed to get most of the wing built up. The airfoil shapes came out a little...

RE: 5 new plans...

I checked the instruction manual, and the Hobbico Part number listed for the propeller is HCAQ3260. Not finding any other information on it other than it's 4 3/8" diameter. I did order quite a bit...

RE: 5 new plans...

psullivan,

Thanks for the response.

I am going to go with electric, using ptulmer's 'ME2' design as listed on his website in the 'untested' plans section. The ME2 is based around the Free...

RE: 5 new plans...

Ok then, some 'non-dumb' questions...:D

1. Does this one have rudder control as designed? I only saw two servo's, one for aileron and one for elevator.

2. Any idea's on the throw's? Is...

RE: 5 new plans...

PT,

Well, in the large format .pdf, you had two fuselage measurements listed, one that says 6 1/4 (I believe that is inches) and one that says 12 5/8. I believe the 6 1/4 is the distance from...

RE: 5 new plans...

PT,

Thanks for posting the whole plan, and modifying it with the fuse measurements.

I've been busy setting up cut sheets for the wood.

The fuse bulkheads, are they made out of...

Mr. Ulmer,

Thanks for responding, and thanks in advance for posting the full-sized pdf.

To be honest, I've only 'worked' with one of the three kits that I have. The battery pack in there...

RE: 5 new plans...

Hi,

Just want to say I've taken a look at the ME2, and was wanting to build it.

They still have the 'ducted fan' version of the Free Flight conversion kits available at a large on-line...
