RE: Spektrum issues

My question is pretty much the same, I just bought the DX2 and took it out for the first time, got the buggy about a 100yards away and then it took off-full speed ahead-right into a fence breaking...

RE: Clutchbell ?

It depends on how your gears line up, you need 100% contact-preferrably in the middle of your clutch bell. I have 3 hurricanes and have ran a 13 tooth all the way up to a 20 tooth, and never messed...

RE: 80+ MPH?! I don't think so...

You know, I have bought 3 of the Hurricane's now, put a HPI 4.6 and a 20 tooth clutch bell on one and I don't care who you are, it's FAST on the street. Red cat, put a kit together for your (Hop...

RE: Stripped clutch bell gear

It came with the flywheel\clutch assembly, but I think it is a HPI for a Savage, it is vented! It works and it doesn't show any wear! I did order a couple of 20 tooth of the same brand-we'll see!

RE: Stripped clutch bell gear

If the mounts are shifting, it has to be very minimal, otherwis it would open up rather than tightening up due to the rotation, that's a good thought though. I bought a new spur gear just for grins...

RE: Stripped clutch bell gear

Well. I guess I messed up when I bought some gears off of the auction site, I bought a 20 tooth vented and a 16 tooth clutch bell from racers edge-part #14920 and it won't fit over my clutch, mine is...

RE: Stripped clutch bell gear

Both gears are steel, I am supposedly buying the hardened cb gears? don't really know how hard they are supposed to be. Once I set the cb gear, yes I run it until it stripps-I don't keep reseting the...

RE: Stripped clutch bell gear

HPI 17 tooth. The cb is getting stripped in the middle of the teeth-not on one end or the other. I am afraid of tightening the screws down any more for fear of stripping them. I just don't know!

RE: Stripped clutch bell gear

Well, now I have stripped both gears on both cars[:@] I really don't know whats going on. I checked the backlash and set with a piece of paper between them. I also noticed that the disc brake on the...

RE: Stripped clutch bell gear

Thanks guys, I ran it tonight and so far so good, the gear looks good, I didn't do any ramping though. As far as my tires go, they are knobbies and solid 17mm wheels-don't have a clue what their...

RE: Stripped clutch bell gear

OK, finally checked the backlash-a little loose I think. A normal piece of notebook paper is .003 thousandths thick. I set mine with the paper going through once without tearing-if I double the...

RE: Stripped clutch bell gear

Thanks, I'll try and check it,
I bought the car used, so of coarse things are going to happen. Other than that, it's a LOT OF FUN, my kids are enjoying it as well-OFNA or not, I think the RED CAT...

RE: Stripped clutch bell gear

I did just start jumping it yesterday-not bad for a beginner-15 to 20 feet. This is the second gear that I have stripped-unfortunately. Any advice will be helpful, I can't figure out how to get my...

RE: Stripped clutch bell gear

How loose is too lose? What is the possibility that my clutch is over heating and transferring heat to the gear and causing it to wear too fast?

RE: Stripped clutch bell gear

I am pretty sure that the 4.6 motor is a HPI motor. I have ordered a couple now from the auction place and waiting to get them in, some hardened and some not.
Thanks for the info though.

Stripped clutch bell gear

What's the deal with the Redcat Hurricanes, I am new to the rc world but I am already purchasing the 3rd gear already after a week and a half of playing. I have the 4.6 motor installed-is the frame...
