Just use spruce as wing spars and all should be fine.
I also had a ST G40 Little Stik.
For a short time, it was legal as the old "open pylon" class.

Engine Selection For 70's Pattern Ship Question

My set up is as follows:

Phoenix 7 with Rom-Air Tri Gear System.

I do have a Supertigre G60 Bluehead ABC engine
with an ED cranked pipe I could mount up.

If not a Skynight 6, could be a Phoenix 5 by Skyglass.
The forward canopy and long forward dorsel fin leads me to the "5".
