RE: Maybe a stupid question - legal engines, measured in cc or cui?

When you look at most specs for engines, the .21's are usually listed as 3.49cc, so .21 is probably the more accurate measurement, unless the manufacturers are building the engines at 3.49 just to be...

RE: replacement carb for Picco?

I definitly blame Orion, I admit technically they didn't lie about anything, but then again what am I suppose to do, take apart the engine at the Hobby Shop before I pay for it? After all the hype...

RE: replacement carb for Picco?

Well I managed to find one picture on the internet that shows the internals of the CRF, and yes it's a Picco piston and sleeve, I have to say that I'm very dissappointed. At the beginning of this...

RE: replacement carb for Picco?

Supertib, I get what you're saying, I'll try to run it "rich" until it warms up and see if it "levels" out once up to temp. With the JP -4 it seemed to have plenty of power, especialy on the bottom...

I'm running the engine in an Xray 808, brand new fuel tank with a JP-4 pipe

Right now I'm running an old Ninja in the car and the tune is perfect, I believe I can eliminate the tank as the...

RE: replacement carb for Picco?

I'm running the Orion CRF Rev, with a JP-4, GRP #6 Turbo, I have a cheap OFNA temp gun, but I never tune by temp, I prefer to listen to the engine, I did seal the carb in the area the picture shows. ...

RE: Do you think Losi will have a new 1/8 scale out for next season?

I think it depends on wether or not a Losi wins the worlds, if a Losi wins then I would imagine that they market the current 8ight for atleast another year and wait to bring out a new buggy. If they...

RE: replacement carb for Picco?

Thanks Supertib, but I really want to try a different carb to see if it solves my problem.

the tune is great until the fuel gets about half way down in the tank, then the engine develops a lean...

RE: 1/8 Buggy -THE BEST, HANDS DOWN, IS??

The story I heard was that the private test at the Farm resulted in some last minute changes to the design of the 808, mainly the A arms, Hudy himself was testing some different arms, liked them, and...

RE: 1/8 Buggy -THE BEST, HANDS DOWN, IS??

The 808 is an all new design from the XB8 - I never owned an XB8 but the 808 is definitly suited for American Style tracks, Jumps just as good if not better than the Losi, and handles just as well...

RE: adjustable down?

I once saw a guy who was putting a whole lotta preload on his sway bars, he claimed that it binded the suspension so the car wouldn't bottom out but he could still run a soft set-up, Don't ask me why...

RE: 1/8 Buggy -THE BEST, HANDS DOWN, IS??

RE: 1/8 Buggy -THE BEST, HANDS DOWN, IS??

I think you're on the right track, I have owned the Losi 8ight for about two years and have absolutely no complaints. I wanted to try something different so I recently purchased an Xray XB808. Both...

RE: RC8 first 1/8 buggy. Good combo?

All good equipment, the only suggestion I would have, Jsk said, get a stick reciever pack (5 cells in a row) On the RC8 it will allow you to position the battery more towards the center line of the...

RE: 8ight - 808

Well I took a little time and did a little research, I managed to find one article that gives Jukka Steenari credit for designing the 8ight. So I guess you're right LosiMadman.... Although I couldn't...

RE: Basic clutch/tuning questions...

You're right NOT to tune by temp, it's best to tune by performance, I would also hesitate to tune by smoke, certainly you want smoke to be coming out throughout the powerband, but every fuel smokes...

RE: Basic clutch/tuning questions...

You definitly need the three washers, otherwise the shoes can bind or get hung up on the flywheel.

your problem sounds like a lean bog, you can't tune the engine until it's up to temp, it sounds...

RE: 8ight - 808

Ok...well I think we drove off Rock Rc from his thread, bottom line, there aren't many original ideas out there any more, yes you have to give Losi credit for coming up with a fresh idea, but to put...
