RE: Pen as a shaft sealer?

Hello,

Well I'm not 100% sure, but from what I understand, if the top of the packing-seal (pen) is above the water-line inside the boat --a loose fit with a bit of petroleum jelly would probably...

RE: How many RC submarine combat clubs are there?

As far as I know none.

But I'm staring a new club in Massachusetts that would welcome it. So far I have only a hand full of people interested and we hope to incorporate smart weapons.

Good...

RE: Drive mechanism for an oar powered boat

Awesome!

I wonder if this inexpensive motor controller would be helpful to you if speed control is an issue? I built one, for a different application, and it works great.

RE: Calculations(will it float?)

Awesome Flabum,

Well not that you almost got killed, but for the info!

Surely, it may help save someone else's life. (Especially mine, as Murphy's Law follows me around like a black-cloud!)...

RE: Calculations(will it float?)

I know there are people here who know a lot more about props than I do, cause I know little if nothing about them. (One thing about this place is people sure know how to go fast!)

I never heard...

RE: Calculations(will it float?)

I will try to keep it simple here, but::eek:

A boat floats, because the fluid in which it is floating offsets the downward pull of gravity and pushes it up. The scientific name for this force,...

RE: reinforcing plastic for combat

Hello,

From what I understand. Most battle boat hulls are made of doped-paper and not plastic. I think, one reason is for safety (to help prevent the projectile from dangerously ricocheting at...

RE: Utilitarian Electric R/C Boat???

Hello,

I'm not sure what you are towing and how much power you need, but this one is reasonably cost effective:

RE: Hunter Killer/Balistic missle sub club.

Yes sounds good to me. And the technology is here in 2007.

But I think you can put guidance into everything but rockets.

I'm not sure but I think it is against the law? Does anyone know?

Sure I don't see why not. I have the same camera. (I think) I'm not sure the spring has to have iron fillings in it? As long as it is conductive metal it should work including aluminum.

Keep me...

I'm curious could one use of those electric barbecue starters could be used? My new barbeque has a AA battery in it and requires very little force.

And what do you use as the...

Hi,

That is quite interesting.

My question is how to you get rid of the heat, and how do you start the engine after you surface?

Thanks!

RE: Camera

Hi,

The antenna is simply a piece of wire. Adding wire would probably not hurt anything, however the length of wire can also be related to the wave-length of the frequency.

I wouldn't...

RE: servos

Hi,

Servos are basically small geared motors. The way controllers talk to them can be a bit difficult to understand depending on the electronics background you have.

However, it is not that...
