RE: axe cp thread

It'll drift left naturally. It's a bigger issue while it's sliding around on the floor and less so while it's hovering. Just give it a little right roll input (right stick to the right) to...

RE: Yaw

...as in pendulum motion or as in rotating motion? If it's pendulum it could be just a matter of getting used to the controls and more practice to get those thumbs nimble. If it's rotating about...

RE: Electronics failure?

You mentioned a red light on the "ESC" (the manual makes no mention of LEDs or lights that I could find - very helpful.) Maybe a red light means that the battery is dead? Just brainstorming. ...

RE: Electronics failure?

Hm...if you have the manual (I found one here online for a similar model I believe), page 22 makes some mention of electronics and cable connections. Even on low battery you should be able to get...

RE: Autorotation

For anyone interested, here's a great autorotation video on what looks like RealFlight G2.

HelisRule, thank you very much for the pictures and the links for the power supply conversion. They'll be great help for my new project!

RE: Autorotation

I suppose in that situation, where only the motor died and you still had control over all your electronics (and thus servos), you could do an autorotation. I'm not sure how freely the blades have to...

RE: Autorotation

You'd need a transmitter that has a throttle hold feature, which disengages the engine/motor to allow the main rotors to spin freely while still allowing electrical control over the servos. During...

RE: axe cp thread

vbradley, is the pitch problem still there if you remove the servo arm links. I ask to rule out any binding issues and also to isolate electronics/servos. I don't know how much free time you have...

RE: Alternative AXE CP parts

It doesn't state the difference between them so it's hard to say which is the better deal. But for cost reasons, $8 is the winner in my book. I can't imagine the $13 tail boom "performing" better...

RE: wheel landing gears

I found this thread wherein darthdrk made an Airwolf fuselage with retracts. There are some good pictures of his retracts. It may get the ball rolling and you may be able to ask darthdrk directly...

RE: axe cp thread

HelisRule, that's good stuff, man - the resistor and lamp are brilliant! I have a couple power supplies that are slated to be thrown away but would like to convert one of them for this use if...

RE: What else will be damaged? Axe cp

If you haven't flown it before, check to make sure the electronics are responding correctly - a bad crash can leave servos pretty shaken up and lead to fatal glitch in the air. Just power on and...

RE: Heli max axe cp

@ spainbanjo, that does sound odd that the helicopter would "exploded" (my words ;)) during throttling up. If that's the case, this helicopter must have been overlooked at the factory. If it's...

RE: Alternative AXE CP parts

I wouldn't go as far as saying it's an absolute necessity, but it's highly, highly recommended - it'll help conduct heat to the sink. Radio Shack should have some for less than $10 (actually, $7...

RE: axe cp thread

You may want to check if the teeth are meshing. If not, loosen the main motor screw and move it closer to the main gear.

As for the screeching, it may be a bit early for this, but it could be...

RE: Axe CP setup guide

In normal mode your servo arms will level when your throttle is all the way down, however, there will be some positive pitch to your blades. To adjust how much pitch, you'll need to zero pitch the...

RE: Axe CP Beginner

Yes, a flight sim is a good investment if you can throw some money that way - it'll afford you the luxury of trial and error without extra added cost.

The first upgrade you may want to consider...

RE: what the? Axe CP jumping in the air!

I'm not sure if there are other symptoms, but my bad servo would just stop responding and for it to get going again I would have to nudge the arm with my fingers. It would rotate fine for a bit...

The FH belt mod is available - $81.34 US, $98 AUS. Anybody have the link to that RC Group thread Heliko mentioned? It'd be an interesting read.

RE: RTR myth or fact??

Yes, such a thing exists. Examples would be the Heli-Max Axe CP, the E-flite Blade CP Pro, and the Esky Honey Bee King v2. As for starting with something like those or an ARF that you would put...

RE: just bought an axe cp! what to do first??

My upgrades so far have been LiPo batteries and servos. LiPo batteries are a must for the Axe as the stock ones run about 5 minutes before they die. :( The servos were necessary because one of mine...

RE: axe cp thread

Speaking of which, anyone considering this Freestyle-Hobby belt mod when it comes out as a kit? I'm still not sure what direction my R/C hobby will take me yet, so I'm may wait it out a bit.
