RE: "Unofficial" Vulcan 450SE, Pigeon 450, GL450 Thread

I haven't seen the Vulcan 450 or the Pigeon online for a while. I bought mine from Xheli. They don't seem to have any more of them. Reign of the Vulcan/Pigeon 450 seems to have been short-lived. Hope...

RE: "Unofficial" Vulcan 450SE, Pigeon 450, GL450 Thread

I don't remember the size, but it's a machine screw that came with the heli. Silver metal, phillips head. Use loctite. I also bought the hardware set for the HeliDirect.com HDX450. Those screws are...

RE: "Unofficial" Vulcan 450SE, Pigeon 450, GL450 Thread

I had an offline request for some pics.

I haven't been playing with my heli for a couple months. Last weekend tried to do a little flying - but the previous flight ended with a small minor...

RE: "Unofficial" Vulcan 450SE, Pigeon 450, GL450 Thread

NO! You just need to reverse the servo settings in your transmitter.

Set up your servos so that the connecting rods are vertical from the swash to the servo arm, and you properly center the...

RE: "Unofficial" Vulcan 450SE, Pigeon 450, GL450 Thread

I haven't been watching the heli sites for a few weeks. Looking at xheli and raidentech today, I don't see the Vulcan 450 listed any more. Anyone know anything about this?

I'm not too worried...

RE: "Unofficial" Vulcan 450SE, Pigeon 450, GL450 Thread

I'd say it's a generic, commodity heli. A clone of many of the 450 size helis. Pretty straight forward build, but there are no instructions, so you need some experience or help. It comes 90% prebuilt...

RE: "Unofficial" Vulcan 450SE, Pigeon 450, GL450 Thread

Smart move. Getting some local help will save you lots of frustration and crash kits. I was surprised at how touchy mine was, and I've been flying a coaxial heli. This type of heli just plain...

RE: "Unofficial" Vulcan 450SE, Pigeon 450, GL450 Thread

I just flew off one battery pack hovering on the ground and one pack with my mentor using a trainer cord. He took control quite a few times, but I did make some improvement. Really helps having...

RE: "Unofficial" Vulcan 450SE, Pigeon 450, GL450 Thread

Parts discovery!

I just discovered that the Vulcan 450 seems to borrow it's main drive/tail drive parts from the Dragonus II nv. The Dragonus uses the same belt drive arrangement and the parts...

RE: "Unofficial" Vulcan 450SE, Pigeon 450, GL450 Thread

You won' t need a 60 amp ESC. 35A is all you need. I'm not familiar with that motor. Not familiar with the radio either, just make sure it can handle a ccpm helicopter. The heli's fly great, once you...

RE: "Unofficial" Vulcan 450SE, Pigeon 450, GL450 Thread

Disclaimer: I'm not really qualified for "cost no object", but I'll do my best with what I know.

6ch radio - Spektrum DX6 (I'd go for 7+ channels and get a JR10x radio)
servos- HiTec...

RE: Trex 450se V2 for Intermediate?

In my opinion (and it should be yours ;-) ) you should go for it. If you can afford the Trex 450se v2, you're getting top of the line with all the bling parts. There are plenty of helpful sites and...

RE: "Unofficial" Vulcan 450SE, Pigeon 450, GL450 Thread

If I were you, I'd put the stock tail rotor blades and flybar paddles back on - the CF stuff is too nice to be sacrificed in your first crash. Put the fancy stuff on after you ruin the stock parts. ...

RE: T-Rex 450S payload??

I can't tell you the weight, but my son has been using a Trex 450sa to fly a small DV camera for an engineering project, but I'm not sure of the exact camera model they're using.

The Trex has...

"Unofficial" Vulcan 450SE, Pigeon 450, GL450 Thread

RE: New Vulcan 450SE-anyone fly one yet?

Can't follow your suggestion about loosening the tail boom and sliding forward - this heli has an indexing pin and corresponding slot cut in the tail boom. It can't be slid forward to loosen the...

RE: New Vulcan 450SE-anyone fly one yet?

Thanks for the 411. Not sure that one has to remove the mainshaft to replace the belt as the belt goes on the bottom cog. Depends on how far it will stretch-but it doesn't need to stretch much. I...

RE: New Vulcan 450SE-anyone fly one yet?

I'm still working on it - slowly. Been hitting Ebay to buy all...

RE: New Vulcan 450SE-anyone fly one yet?

I received it a week ago. Been accumulating all the necessary bits and pieces since then. The heli itself is nicely made with mostly metal parts. Plenty of bling to go around. It comes in a pretty...

Here are the promised pics with the Xtreme upgrades. I've decided that I'm done with this heli for now. I put it back together today and flew off one battery pack. At one point I was able to hover...

RE: Esky Lama V4 Observations & Info

I still need to upload the photos of the heli with the xtreme parts, once I put it back together. (I have to put it back together b/c a roll of fabric (thanks Dear...) fell on the heli and crushed...
