Do you have any other photos of the F35 ?

I'd also like to know if it was overly heavy and if it leaped off the ground or rotated easily.

Yes the VT80 is a good combo absolutely. For grass fields i believe the takeoff weight for a VT80 needs to be below 10.5kg if you want a short takeoff.

It certainly is nice and easy. I was so fearful of the maiden because of what i read on this forum - wingtip stalls, elevator flutter, fast landings etc etc

It pays to kept things light too.

I decided on the VT80 and flew the T45 last week. It rotated off grass without any issues and was a much shorter takeoff run than expected.

It flew beautifully. CG 145mm and sightly nose heavy...

I suspected the starter was just a little stuck from being new etc so I let it run at 7000 rpm for awhile ( trim up and full throttle) and then started the Start Cycle (leave trim up...

Numerous attempts to start and the rpm of the starter wont get above 1000 rpm

It can certainly spin faster than this because in Cooling mode the compressor spins much faster

Not sure why...
