What's a good 2.4 system?

Hi, I just got into rc cars and I want to upgrade my 72 radio to a 2.4 system. I'm not new to RC, I fly airplanes (warbirds, 3d, and jets). I have a spektrum dx7, and JR12X, both are excellent radios...

My plug went out, what is the best plug for my motor (or any JetCat motor)? What do you guys do to get the bunny ears on the coil? I was told to heat up the plug with a glow ignitor then let it cool...

Bought the cripper from dreamworks (delivery was $12!!!!). Airwild sold out of the extensions so I bought both the JR female/male leads from servoAndStuff.

I want to start making my own packs for all my jets. I'm looking for both the 2300 and 1100 mAh cells. What other stuff do I need? Heatshrink? Silicon wires?
