The diameter of the cowling will be an issue, I guess 10 inches, as I will have to do some cut offs to the cowl to allow the spark plugs...

2-3 gallons running on lawnboy (rich) should not accumulate lots of carbon, would it?
However, the spark plugs looked OK last time I removed.
