The power down mode is not necessary. The direction of transmitter's antenna is not matter since both receivers are placed at almost same position.
But the multi channel mode is absolutely...

We tried to check if only one disturbing transmitter is enough to cause the phenomenon.
Here comes the result. Please note that the undesired transmitter is in "Power Down Mode"

The set-up of all transmitter was "multi-ch" mode. I don't know how the result change if the mode is "7ch".

Futaba showed their new 6ch 2.4GHz at Tokyo model show in this Oct. The protocol is not FASST but FHSS. The antenna is concealed unlike current outside stick type.

Futaba said that the high speed mode is really good for 3D helicopter. Once used then no way to return to normal mode if the pilot can tell the difference.
