RE: Top Flite '.60 size' P-51D Mustang ARF: Building & Modifications

My first warbird was a Hanger9 .46 size P-51 PTS with the optional wing droops....it was low cost, and the extra surface area on the wings and the modest power on it got me used to takeoff / landings...

RE: Top Flite '.60 size' P-51D Mustang ARF: Building & Modifications

Man, that sucks....I have seen your posts on here for months, and know how hard you worked on this plane, and also saw how sweet your setup was.
I actually have an extra ARF kit that I bought from...

RE: Top Flite '.60 size' P-51D Mustang ARF: Building & Modifications

It be true that the Saito 125 does double as a paint mixer on this plane. I have had a aileron hinge crack, servo screws loosen, motor mount screws loosen...basically, I have learned to go over the...

RE: Top Flite '.60 size' P-51D Mustang ARF: Building & Modifications

That retract setup would work great....I have the mechanical version of this, but have had issues around servos, push rods, etc....I'm going air from now on.

RE: Top Flite '.60 size' P-51D Mustang ARF: Building & Modifications

The slimline pitts on my Saito 125 is a little larger than I would like. The Keleo looks really nice and compact.

16x7 or 16x8 both work.

I have only two blade...

Hey mdomokos,

I don't have any experience with the Hobbico retracts, but what I can tell you from my own experience and from following this thread and others, is that no matter what retract...

RE: Top Flite '.60 size' P-51D Mustang ARF: Building & Modifications

I looked long and hard, and the TF seemed like the best P-51 ARF in the .60 size class. Sounds like MDOMOKOS got a lemon, I have experienced none of those issues, and my covering was also fine. I...

FYI, even after market retracts can have issues. ...

RE: Top Flite '.60 size' P-51D Mustang ARF: Building & Modifications

I did quite a bit of extra on mine. Under the mounting rails, there was still lots of open space that wasn't necessary, so I shaped some birch ply, both forward and aft and epoxied the whole thing...

-The Robarts work great, but you have to modify the mounting area so that the retracts rods line up with the proper...
