Didn`t some wise fellow say " Youth is wasted on the young " ?

RE: Looking for 2nd Plane (warbird)

I think ( hope ) that the Mentor that folks are talking about is the World Model T-34. It`s a stand off scale T-34 that looks good and doesn`t sacrifice good flying characteristics. The other ARF...

RE: I joined the club today

Chad, if I had to bet, I`d say that the day will come when you`ll post that you`ve discovered that the best part of this hobby, even better than the planes and the flying, is the people you meet and...

Aftermarket Decals For WM T-34??

Anybody know where one might obtain some decals that would look good on a WM T-34? I know that Pica had some from their T-28 that looked good, but it`s my understanding that Pica is out of business....

RE: Just About To Pitch WM T-34 Across the Room!!

Yep, I`ve removed the fuel tank in order to fish the control rods for the nose gear and throttle. One of my club mates gave me a yellow inner rod that Mr. Mulligan talked about in his post. Worked...

RE: Just About To Pitch WM T-34 Across the Room!!

Thanks guys, appreciate the ideas. I`ve calmed down some now. Too many good things said about this airplane to give up on it. As I`m sure you`ve guessed, this is my first ARF. Have to learn somehow...

RE: Just About To Pitch WM T-34 Across the Room!!

Can`t feed it in backwards because most of the rod consists of a wooden dowel. It won`t fit through the slot near the tail. I need a drink!

Just About To Pitch WM T-34 Across the Room!!

OK guys!! What magic touch is employed to run control rods, without being able to see what you`re doing, the length of the fuselage and have it come out the little slots back near the tail??? Two...

" Beginner " To " Intermediate " Sport Pilot??

At what point in one`s sport flying experience and proficiency curve does one graduate from being a "beginner" and become an "intermediate " flyer? I see these terms bandied about and am wondering...

RE: Getting Rid Of That Trainer? You Might Reconsider...

Donating/selling your trainer is most assuredly a good thing to do to promote the hobby. I`m in no way trying to advocate selfishness by any means, just opining that trainers have a function after...

Getting Rid Of That Trainer? You Might Reconsider...

When ( not if ) you auger in that second, third, maybe even fourth plane, you might be surprised at the negative effect it might have on your confidence. That`s especially so if, upon honest...

Help! WM T-34 Wing To Fuse Fit Problem!

Anybody have this problem? I`ve already addressed an issue with the aileron torque rods not clearing the wing hold down bolt plate. A little sanding took care of that. The main problem is that when I...

RE: Why oh why must we learn the hard way?

Another possibility in addition to the Aerobat might be an Avistar ARF with a 46. A bit " hotter " than the average flat bottom winged trainer. Balanced properly it`ll do lots of basic aerobatics...

RE: Hangar 9 P-40: Big Disappointment

Amen P-47!! Your last sentence sums up why I fly, and maybe why I`ll get a H9 P-40 one of these days. Personally, I think a discussion of pros and cons of models is OK, but when it gets to rancor,...

RE: Which Sig?

Just a suggestion NJ, a good thing to remember is ALTITUDE IS YOUR FRIEND as you start flying your SSE. Give yourself lots of room as you start aerobatics with it.

RE: Can a Sport Flyer fly 3D?

IMO, sure. We have guys in my club that I`d definitely call sport flyers that play around with basic 3D stuff, to include the occasional hover. They also fly other types of planes as well and...

RE: How do you define sport flying?

I agree that sport flying is as much " attitude " as anything else. Like anything else, RC flying has those participants who one might call " hard core ", whether that be 3D, pattern, detailed scale,...

RE: i crashed the nexstar

Zurich has introduced a new, more " stylish " frame shape. If I were about to buy my first pair I`d check them out. As it is, I have two pair of the originals and will continue to wear those.

RE: i crashed the nexstar

Second what Minn says about the Zurichs. Our field faces East and a lot of guys don`t fly in the early AM because of it. While I don`t do it purposefully, my dark grey Zurichs will let me fly right...

RE: Modeltech SE5a

The wheels are indeed too large, but on the bright side, grass fields will be ZERO problem for this puppy!
