Sig's Extra 300 "XS" improperly named?

Anyone read that little tidbit about some manufacturers giving the wrong name to their Extra models in the latest Model Aviation?

There is no such thing as an "Extra300XS."

Two thoughts:

Why is the sig 300xs so hard to land!!!

I hate to sound like a jerk but that airplane is one of the easiest I've ever landed. Before I moved the CG aft, I kid you not, it was easier to land than a trainer. It's got to be in your set up....

Deullist tail dragger

Thanks guys.

Hey mucksmear, I've read your web site before with a lot of facsination. I'm fond of the 110 anyway because I "fly" one in an online multiplayer sim called "world war 2 online"...

Deullist tail dragger

Has anyone here ever flown a duellist in a tail dragger configuration? I converted mine to save weight and gain prop clearance. AFTER I was finished, someone mentioned that it might be difficult to...

H9 1/4 73" CAP 232 Elevator linkage-did anyone change this? (and other issues!!!)

I had a pull-pull system on mine similar to the one used on the DP 1.20 Ultimate. It worked very well, but you have to cut two exit holes on the fuse and use a rod and a lighter to burn a path...

"illegal" hovering

Sorry I sounded like a jerk, but you know, these people who hover over the runway keep other people from flying. It's also a big distraction. It may be impressive to you or the crowd, but I've seen...

Sig Extra 300xs any problems

Well, smartwork, it sure is a beautiful airplane. I was curious about the wing because I had heard one report of the wing folding....but that could be many things other than the inherent design,...

Dave Patrick's Ultamate 1.20

I have a Satio 1.8 in mine. I had to get a slimline pitt style muffler in order to get it to fit, though.

A saito 1.8 will pull the snot out of a DP Ultimate. It has almost as much power as...

Sig Extra 300xs any problems

Why did you glass the wing? is there some evidence that the stock set-up isn't strong enough?

Sig Extra 300xs any problems

oh!!!

One more thing!

Instead of spending 15 hours installing the stock hinges that came with this kit, I just used the "large scale" fiberglass/paper hinges made by radio city. That alone cut...

Sig Extra 300xs any problems

Yes, I love the airplane dearly. It is like one of my children. The 1.8 gives it decent power; it will pull out of a hover....not with AUTHORITY but it will pull out. Use good servos...70...

Sig Extra 300xs any problems

the stock fuel tank sucks...

other than that it's the best flying airplane that I've ever had.

Have a Saito 1.8 in mine. You need a lot of right thrust, despite what the directions say.

I'm...

I've been waiting for this day for many years

I just *might* get to fly a twin. I've wanted one for ever.

It has two 2-strokes, and I've always wanted 4-strokes. The next challenge, assuming the airplane survives, is to find a...

1.20 H-9 edge, sig extra300, or 1.20 Lanier edge?

longer than the extra? Extra has 78", I think Edge is around 72"

Yes, the Edge is lighter. Doesn't necessarily mean it's better, though. I can't claim it is or isn't because I haven't flown it.
