RE: Yet another Predator Outrigger, inspired by Fiend and mrfixitwhite

Some people like it right at the TE of the sponsons if you didn't use the rear ride pads, but if you did a little farther back, out to about an inch behind the sponsons, is usually good.

You...

RE: Official Electric Conversion Thread

The stock revo tranny works just fine, right?

So all you would need it a motor mount.

The RC monster one works well, too. So i've heard.

You don't need to buy a battery tray either.

RE: Official Electric Conversion Thread

A 1527 has a larger diameter than a 1515, I think that's what usually throws people off.

A big car (truggy) would work fine with a 1521. Not sure if you could even squeez a 1527 in there.

RE: Prince 25" Mono

Taking the prop more out of the water in race conditions is not exactly what you want...

You will see noticeably slower lap times.

RE: Prince 25" Mono

Quite simply, move the CG forward. Try 33%-35%.

RE: The Unofficial all things Jet drive thread

I tried to tell Diego boy on OSE that the drive was too big, but he had already cut the hole for the intake.

(way too far forward, I might add...)

And he wanted to use a 540l on it!

RE: Official Electric Conversion Thread

The motor amp draw(and therefore power output) is based on load. Forget all you know about IC engines.

If the motor is geared to have the car go the same speed on 3s and 5s, the load on the...

RE: Official Electric Conversion Thread

To figure out the wattage, or power output of an electric motor you multiply the input voltage by the amperage, and then by the efficiency of the motor at that given amp draw.

If you have a...

RE: Official Electric Conversion Thread

If you are runnni ga 4s setup and are getting a 40mph top speed and moderate acceleration, a properly configured 5s setup can reach the same performance while drawing less amperage. I.E. same watts...

RE: Official Electric Conversion Thread

Look:

RE: Official Electric Conversion Thread

In my experience, those motors get warm just running no load in your hand.

Offshore electrics has a Feigao 580 L that would make your truggy fly. They are about $100 last time I checked, and...

That is an EXTREMELY inaccurate way of doing that. Take your diff covers off and count the number of gear teeth. Divide one by the other, and you have the ratio.

You can't count 1:4.6 by...
