RE: How to Set CPV3 Pitch? And Blade Track?

Adjust the length of the links that connect the servos to the swash plate to alter the collective pitch. In the case of the helimax axe V1, V2 and V3, making the link length longer will reduce...

RE: CPv3 Belt Drive Motor

BTW

Welcome to the addiction :D. This little bugger will test your patience and offer great frustration. But when you send your little bird out into the wild blue and she returns with nary a...

RE: CPv3 Belt Drive Motor

Save your money!!!!

An ESC is Electronic speed controller
The gyro keeps the tail from spinning around uncontrollably. There is alot more to it, but that essentially is its function.
To...

RE: Helimax 400 3d

The axe 400 looks like an ACP on steroids, nothing like a Trex 450 at all, or atleast the V2 SE version. I would really like to know how the Axe 400 "flys better" than the B400, not just a hop or...

RE: CPv3 Belt Drive Motor

Freestyle hobby makes a kit with all the parts except the electronics. There are several pilots here that have taken a different approach with success. For example, I am using HBK2 drive pulley,...

Please do tell, what is it that makes the Axe 400 better.

RE: axe cp jumps

In defense of the axe, I agree, despite its issues (every heli has um) it is one tough little bird. One of the reasons I keep coming back to it. That and the relatively inexpensive parts. The ACP can...

RE: axe cp jumps

I have 4 flyable ACPs. 2 stock, one heavily modified (previous post) and one frankenaxe. The only stock left on franky is the chassis and main gear. LOL. You may ask why spend the time, money and...

RE: axe cp jumps

After several frustrating months last year with the axe in stock configuration, I upgraded to a Futaba 7c radio. This alone did nothing to solve my issue of the heli jumping(eliminate electronics). I...

RE: Axe Parts Compatibility between models

M2 nut, available most any LHS or online hobby store. I bought in bulk from here because everything but the motor mount is 2mm bolt or 2 mm screw.

RE: First major crash Axe CPv3

Congrats. Now you know what the addiction is all about :D. I had a similar experience a couple of weeks ago with my B400. The heli did just exactly what I told it to do, the problem was I told it to...

RE: axe cp leans

This is normal, especially noticeable in a smaller heli. Not to worry. Someone will jump in and give an explanation as to why this phenomenon occurs. Best thing is to just ignore or get used to...

RE: Problems with HM4000 gyro on Axe CP

I have used a coleco gy400 on one of my helis. I had to reverse channel 4 to get it to arm properly..... just a thought...

Are you using the stock transmitter?

RE: HH gyro on AxeCPv3

For receiver crystal replacement , use Futaba FUTL63** Replace the stars (last 2 digits of part #) with the channel on your Tx. Tower Hobbies sells these for $12.99 + shipping. TH stock...

RE: HH gyro on AxeCPv3

Yes. The gyro and esc dont care what receiver you use so go ahead and hook them up. However, for just a few dollars you can find a receiver crystal that matches your Tx. That way you can use the 6ex....

RE: HH gyro on AxeCPv3

The stock receiver is compatible with Futaba 72MHz transmitter. So as long as the Rx and Tx are on the same frequency, you are good to go with your 6ex.

RE: HBK2 + AXE = belt driven tail

I made a bushing to fit the boom. I like the inexpensive knitting needle replacement. Front pulley is HBK2 modded to fit the 6mm main shaft and the belt is from the align 450 tail. There was just...

RE: HBK2 + AXE = belt driven tail

Looks real good. Very similar to the way I did mine. I used an align 450 tail instead of the HBK2, but the end result is the same. A tame heli that I fly instead of chasing it all over.
Food for...

RE: heli gyro for cpv3

I have never had any luck with the brushless tail, many others have had great success. I went with belt drive tail, but thats another thread. Try looking over at RCgroups forum for the helimax Axe CP...

RE: help with my mx 400

RE: help with my mx 400

Did you go through the process of setting up the tail servo and slider mechanically first before trying to fly? Even if nothing else has changed, the linkage needs to be set at a base line, then...

RE: help with my mx 400

Sounds like you inadvertently switched the rotation direction of the tail rotor blades by installing the belt on the tail shaft backwards. The blades should rotate up into the the main rotor wash. In...

RE: Expensive crash of Axe CP-L

Nice job on your improvements. The sim really does make a difference. And sorry to hear that you banged up your ACP so badly. I know its discouraging at time, but I think the effort and expense in...
