I used the 1/4 inch balsa where the canopy glues on and the 3/32 at the front because I opted to go without the dowels into the cowl ring. Instead I opted to use 8 4/40 bolts to hold the canopy on. ...

I would say you could use the Jr 4721 servo, it strong and I used this on an aerotech 84 inch extra that I did all out 3d with. I know you said you are strictly imac only but if the servos are good...

Yes John I scorrect, I did have screws back out which helped attribute to the cowling blow off, the other problem that attributed to the cowl problem was not having enough exit area for the air. ...
