I bought a Epic 3000 6 cell pack and 6 loose EP 4200 cells. Built both to side by side and GPS'ed them in a VXL Rustler. The Epic maxed at 33 mph and the EP maxed at 37.8 mph with the same gearing....

On the chargers. Give the MRC Superbrain 989 a look. Its by far the best charger I have ever owned. A great do it all charger

What sort of tips on building 7 cell packs are you looking for? ...

The thick foam block goes on the end of the battery tray, under the speed control. The thin strip of foam goes on top of the receiver.

Running brushless (VXL Rustler) I get about 12 to 15 mins with the EP 4200's

Thanks. The reason I said 3mV/cell is that is what Trinity told me to set it at with the EP's. They also told me not to worry about the pack temps when charging.
I guess I should have knowned,...

3mV/cell should get you going. If it false peaks, up the mV. Just monitor the pack temps towards the end of the charge.

NiMH Balance Battery. How often

Just wondering how often one should balance their batteries using the c/10 method on unmatched NiMH packs?

Do it after so many charges or if while charging you notice some cells getting hotter...
