There are already kits out there to convert a Axe to belt drive. Search around the forums, a member here has a really tricked out Axe.

Unless its a expensive servo I've found it safer and had better piece of mind when I just replaced the whole servo. The B400 servo cost me about $12, it isn't too much to just replace the whole unit...
