Great cells - even the unmatched will run great for you (and well in your range of price). 4.5A charge is perfect for these. They can be charged higher-rates, but 4.5 will keep them healthy.

Any 2000 mAh rechargeable AA NiMH batteries should work. I've been using those all year (hate spending on Alkaline like some people do). A fully charged set of NiMH run at about 10.4-10.6 volts...

If false-peaking, you want to set it to a higher mV/C. try 8mV/C or 12mV/C - that's just the setting to tell it when it thinks it is peaking. Charging at .5A will give the pack a little more...
