RE: savy not getting to second gear at all!

Are you sure you are still in tune? Hold the truck off the ground, this way thier is no resistance. Give it about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle and listen to see if it shifts. I would label out the tune first...

RE: Tuning question

Close your idle gap some and lean the LSN out a tad. It can hang on idle due to the idle too high and the LSN too rich.........What's the temps?

RE: K4.6 Break-in

The key is to get the temps up to about 200°F, run for around 2-3 mins. REMEMBER WHEN COOLING TO PUT THE PISTON AT BDC. From there people choose a lot of diff methods. I think Jonnycoolguy has a...

RE: starting problem

New engine and having to keeep the igniter on means it's prolly rich! Lean it out a little at a time to get it running with out the igniter on. You are using a hot plug? right?. You can also heat the...

RE: X4.1 Engine Issue

Are you sure you are not missing some of the pins/springs from the OWB? How are you checking to make sure it grabs? The starter is going to have more torque then jusst trying to spin the OWB on the...

RE: engine temps way up

I would def worry about it! At 275° and fuel pouring on the ground. Something is wrong somewhere! Airleak in lines, tank engine, carb, somewhere...............

RE: engine keeps cutting out..

So how long will it idle low before the engine will die? How does it idle when just sitting still? If it was dying immediently I would say possibly too lean HSN and or too lean LSN or idle to low. If...

RE: need help selecting dogbones

yeah stick with the stock ones. They are way more flexiable then the others. The HD just snap. staying off the throttle when anding is another key.

RE: engine temps way up

If you are getting half way throught the tank and having 275° with fuel pouring out, I would be inclined to say you have an airleak! I know the tank has half tank lean, but you would actualy be...

RE: Savage X f4.6 idle problems.

WHen you say the pinch test is good....How many secs? How fast is it cooling while you let it idle? Normaly on average about a degree a sec cooling down at idle. The reason I ask is if you lower the...

RE: Savage X f4.6 idle problems.

If it runs better with a hotter plug I would say you are still maybe a tad bit on the rich side. I would still lower that idle a little bit. It sounds like it is a good setting, so what happens when...

RE: Spur Gear

leass teeth on the SG the more top end. More teeth on the CB the more top end. I like running a 17/47 myself. Depends on what you want and your set up of course! You know thier are alot more things...

RE: Savage X f4.6 idle problems.

sound like a rich LSN with a high idle screw. When you take the filter off and look down the carb how big of a gap do you have? I would adjust to about the thickness of a penny. Lean the LSN 1/8 turn...

RE: Glow Plug??

I like the OD-99 or OD-77. Like go-to said depends on the fuel%. Rule of thumb most big blocks run better (depending on conditions) with cold plug.

RE: Spur Gear

First off the stripping of the SG is prolly a mesh problem. IMO I don''t like the steel SG. I think def not use one until you are positive on your meshing, and I mean positive with no doubts. When...

RE: Savage X f4.6 idle problems.

HAve you looked down the carb to see the gap you have? It could be possible to have the LSN too RICH! and idle to high. How is your take off and temps?

RE: SH.28 or K4.6?

SH .28 P6 or 8 are good powerfull engines. Hard to find parts for them in the states. I think XTM is interchangable.

RE: Getting Hot

How much fuel has been through the motor? Older motors will run hotter. Like stated above the first check would be for the airleak! Could be the motor, the lines, the tank...........
