RE: Texas Boaters?????????

I live in Sugarland tx (Southwest of houston). I run at a small local pond that's a couple of minutes from my house. There are a couple of lakes in the houston area that you can also run or go run...

RE: epoxy shelf life?????

It depends what type/brand of epoxy it is. Is it two parts (two different buckets)? Usually if you keep the epoxy away from air it will last you a while (1 year). Also, usually there is an "go bad...

RE: Designing a new Deep Vee...

It would be cool if you try to replicate a Formula Fastec hull design. Those handle the rough stuff really nice

RE: SHOCKWAVE 55

I also have a BJ 55 and love it. It did have a few issues at the beginning, but once you tweek it a little it runs good in the open water. I'd say keep it and mod it. Especially if it has a nice...

RE: New boat from Proboat

I saw one at the hobby shop the other day. The fiberglass hull is beefier than the BJ 55. It looks like they improved on the quality and logic of the placement of components. I think the reason...

RE: Zen Prob.

I have been running "Seafoam" with great success in my motor for the past 5 gallons. It sounds like you have an overheating problem. Try to richen the mixture a bit

RE: Going clutchless on Blackjack 55

I'm running the stock pipe with BZ1 engine. Everything seems perfect engine wise. It idles correctly and has good flexibility thru the revs.

RE: Going clutchless on Blackjack 55

I just hit 46.9 with the same setup (hit 44.1 last time) and from the sound of the motor, it feels that it's not redlining. I used the whole pond this time. It seems that the pond I go to is too...

The strut is up. The rudders are at stock level, I have'nt adjusted those. I can't seem to get the three blades prop to perform like the two blade one I currently have....not sure why. Probably...

RE: Going clutchless on Blackjack 55

Ok so i adjusted everything and tuned the motor to the new prop (2 blabe grim racer). Came out with a top speed of 44.1 MPH from the previous of 38.6 MPH. The boat becomes flighty at that speed.......

RE: Tinkering with my BK55

Well I tried a Grim racer 65X100 prop (2 blade) on the BJ55. It accelerates slower than the stock prop and cavitates slightly at slow speeds, but the top end, when reached is in the high 40s,...

RE: Tinkering with my BK55

Let me try that. It a shame that areomarine has'nt modified them from the original design. The boat behaves very nice with these rudders and has picked up some speed (I'd say a couple of MPH)

RE: Tinkering with my BK55

I just installed the areomarine rudders. The boat behaves differently and is faster. The only thing is that the cooling has not as much flow as the stock system...Has anybody notice that?

RE: Proboat Blackjack 55 Catamaran

It just has a bonzi Bz1 and bonzi clutch...the rest of it is pretty much stock. I moved the batteries near the water pump for weight distribution. The boat is now very dependable. It tops around 41...

RE: Max RPM's for a fully mod'ed Zen??

That seems low. What kind of hull do you have? They should spin in the 16 to 18K if I remember correctly

I run mine at 1/4 throttle to half throttle most of time. I've had no problems with plugs fouling.

RE: Proboat Blackjack 55 Catamaran

The 6518 is to much for a stock engine, but it will make the boat handle very well in choopy waters and in turns

RE: Proboat Blackjack 55 Catamaran

FE_ Chris,

The 6717/3 prop is very sensitive to the trim/strut angle. It sort of sucks on the low end to mid range, but from mid range to high end it does very good. It is a little harder on...
