The kits aren't shipping yet. They may be ready to go around the end of the month though. I'll be doing a review article on it, so stay tuned.

RE: Sig Liberty Sport Building Manual???

It's been out of production for a few years now but you can still find kits for sale now and then. Usually there will be one on ebay every couple weeks or so.

RE: Somethin Extra w/ HB .61?

I've had an older (pre-schneurle) K&B .61 in mine and it flew way better and with more power and torque than another with an OS.46FX.
The K&B is a very light engine for its size though at about...

RE: Microballoons?

There are two kinds of microballoons, the ones made of glass, and a kind made from phenolic plastic. I prefer the phenolic type for a few reasons. The phenolic type is lighter weight, I think they...

RE: Ignition Engine ID

It is an Ohlsson & Rice .60.
It might fetch about $50 on ebay in its present filthy condition, assuming that it is in good condition internally. It is missing the fuel bowl, and prop drive washer,...

RE: How does a brushless motor work?

Most of today's ESCs, brushless and brushed type, already have the capability to vary the chopping frequency. When you power up the ESC you can usually hear tones generated in the motor which are...

RE: How does a brushless motor work?

The speed of the motor is regulated by 'chopping' the current (turning it on-off rapidly) at part throttle. With the current being chopped the average torque is reduced so it spins the load slower....

RE: How does a brushless motor work?

Matt, the ESC is indeed a DC device. There is no AC current in it. I have designed 3-phase brushless motor controls too so I understand quite well how they work. You are correct that the ESC turns...

RE: Old Olson & Rice .23 Engine

Some of the 1/4 x 32 threaded spark plugs had a 3/8 hex size and others others had a 5/16 hex. The plugs with actual 3/8 threads could not possibly be made to fit the OR.23, it would be practically...

RE: Show Your Sig SE's

Here's a photo of mine a couple years ago when I was flying it electric powered. Later I took the Electric gear out to use in another plane so I dropped a K&B .61 in the SE.

RE: Forgot to unplug!

Your pack will probably be OK. Since the voltage was low but not totally flat, and for a short time, I'd recommend charging it at the 0.1C rate as you thought. Do it in a safe place and monitor it...
