The Kyosho starter looks exactly like OFNA's universal starter. Every slot and whole top and side is the exact same. The only difference is maybe the diameter of the wheel. I don't have it with me...

That true start has a pretty big wheel. I don't think shaving it down will buy that much. It's not that its too thick, its diamater is too big to fit in the allotted slot.
