RE: What happened to

I heard from a fellow local flyer that he opened up in Newcastle. Maybe that's where Jim opened his? If I figure out anymore I'll post it.

What happened to "The Realm"?

Hey guys, I have been on an RC plane sabatical for a while but still got all my stuff. Coaching t-ball and church activities with the kids have taken priority and lots of "hobby" time away, lol. I...

RE: What happened to my retract servo?

I was wrong about the servo brand. It's this one. http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=JSP20080 It doesn't show specs for 6V, do you think there might be a problem using a 6V...

RE: What happened to my retract servo?

Yeah I stripped a gear. It still works but has a bit of slip wher the teeth are stripped in a small section. I think I messed it up because I had the retainers at the outermost ends of the arm and...

RE: What happened to my retract servo?

They were until now. They've been working fine for about 30 cycles or so.

RE: Silly Engine! Bolts should be tight!

Are 4 strokes more likely to grenade like that than 2 strokes? It seems like I've seen more fragged 4 strokes than 2 strokes.

RE: OS 55 AX dead sticks

It's not the prop, I had the exact same setup. The engine ran fine but not enough thrust for the plane. With the 12x4 she has unlimited vertical now.

What happened to my retract servo?

I was checking everything once again and all of a sudden when I lowered the gear, the servo kept running. It still goes up and down just fine but it keep running when it drops the gear as if it is...

RE: OS 55 AX dead sticks

That's too little prop for a large airplane such as the dc. That may work on a small fast plane but I wouldn't recommend it. I do think the 13x6 is too big as well though. The 12x4 or 13x4 would...

RE: OS 55 AX dead sticks

If its the plug you broke it in with then it may need a new one. You'll be surprised the difference a plug will make. Pull it and look at it. Hook the glow igniter up and see if the whole thing is...

RE: Tx flap switch question

Sweet, I didn't even think about plugging into channel 7 since I had the battery there. Can you tell this is my first plane over 4 channels?:)

Tx flap switch question

Is it possible to put my flaps on a switch rather than the turn dial on my 7C? I would like to use the 3 position switch, but can't seem to figure out a way or find one in the manual. Thanks!

RE: Too pretty to maiden?

I think I was holding the tach too close, if I hold it at the recommended range the rpms drop. I tuned it from there to about 9200 and when I hold the plane straight up it continues to run just...

RE: Too pretty to maiden?

It's not so much my confidence level as it is just my personality. I have maidened every plane I own except my trainer. EDF jet, pz corsair, extra 300 (only my second plane), Skyraider mach 2,...

RE: Kyosho Focke Wulf 50 size ARF Build Thread

Is the correct CG the one from the instructions or does it need changing? I have heard they fly like a low wing sport plane, is that true? Getting mine all setup for the maiden and want to be...

RE: Will CA Debonder ruin covering?

it would screw up the covering on my focke wulf, but shouldn't hurt ultracote. Remember, its basically nail polish remover only stronger.

RE: Too pretty to maiden?

I may take you up on it Ken, we'll see how things go.

A couple questions though: She (OS70 FS 1) is turning 10K easily with the 12x6 3 blade and seems rich. Do I need more prop?

...

I appreciate the offer Ken, I wouldn't want you to have to drive this far just to maiden a plane for me, or me drive that far either.:D I think I can handle it, its just that when it comes to...

Too pretty to maiden?

Just got the focke wulf finished up, just gotta adjust the cg. This will be the scariest maiden yet for me, lots of time put in on this one. I may maiden it with the cowl off too, dunno.

RE: Kyosho Focke Wulf 50 size ARF Build Thread

Gonna be maidening mine soon, any tips? She's real nose heavy with the OS 70 so gonna have to move stuff around first. She's almost to purty to maiden, this will be my scariest maiden flight ever.
