RE: Why don't all radios have this feature? Add on if you have one.

I guess I'm nobody! Last summer my Riser 100 was spec height when the transmitter battery decided it was on its last cycle and my radio started beeping. The transmitter read 6.7 when I got the...

RE: Waxed Paper Substitute

I like to use the "window insulating film". Its clear, sturdy, and usually a bargain in the spring time...and you get free hinge tape with it!

RE: Thunder Tiger Windstar EP RTF

I fly my windstar with a three chanel AM radio and two hs-81 servos. The power plant is a Magnetic Mayhem into a 3.8/1 inline gearbox and a 12x10 folding prop. Speed control is a GP-50. Batteries...

RE: A couple questions about the GP Spectra

The Magnetic Mayhem is a good replacement for the stock motor. You can use the same prop or move up a little. Be sure your speed control can handle the juice. If you get something like the GP C-50...

RE: Choosing a big, cheap, relaxing glider

You mentioned the NSP Kestrel which is a lot of glider for a built up two meter.

RE: High-Start and club field. Do they mix?

I resist the urge to set up my high start at our field on weekends when the field is busy mainly because I wind up standing outside the pilot boxes. By adding a couple of brushless motors to my...

RE: Ace High MKll

I have an Ace High that is about twenty five years old. It uses a Cox Medalion .049 on a tank mount and flies and thermals great. Some of the planking likes to come loose as it was put together...

RE: Repowering an Electra

I stuck a Phasor 15/4 in the nose of my 2m Riser with a 7 cell CP-1700 pack and an 8x6 folding prop. It gives me six to eight climbs to thermal altitude and a sore neck.

RE: victoria rigging question

Goop would have been my next try but polyurethane really stuck. I quickly got rid of the wheels and post on the stern as they got in the way of everything.

RE: victoria rigging question

I hung mine the same height as the main boom. Works good. I'm having trouble getting the radio box to stay glued. Going to try polyurethane.

No Water!

I'm really wanting to add RC sailing to my sailplane addiction but the largest standing body of water within a reasonable distance is in the rest room and the City wants to put (more) limits on that....

RE: Hi-Start builders take note

Yep! Mason's line is the right stuff, but I like to use the braided and I never have seen that at Wal Mart. For my smaller gliders I use a braided dacron fly line backing made by Crystal River.

RE: Motor & ESC selection.

RE: Cell phone batteries

Yep! Got regulators and you don't really want to know why I have good batteries and a bad cell phone. [:'(]

I have to assume that these batteries would not be suitable as a power pack but once...

Cell phone batteries

I have just removed the battery from a Nokia 5100 and find a neat little circut board attached to the top. Does this board have a valuable charge/discharge function or should I just remove and...

RE: Bridi Big Birdy Plans

I have a big birdy (from the 70's) but I'm not sure if I still have the plans. Will look. Had it up in a thermal a while back.
