RE: 1/4 scale piper cub j-3 -attaching wings?

An alternative would be to get some all-thread, cut off a piece the length of the allen bolt, thread it into the wing using some locktite and then simply use a nut and washer to attach the wing. Or,...

RE: Short Hub Needed for G38

Another tact would be to use a case-saver or heli-coil to act as an interface between the alum. hub and steel bolt. VW's had a real problem with the cylinder bolts stripping out of the alum. case...

RE: Wings Maker 1/4 Super Cub

From the pic's, this looks an awfully lot like the regular World Model's 1/4 scale Cub (they are both sourced from the same address in Livermore, Ca.). It looks as though they use the same fuze with...

RE: *Sig Rascal 110 ???*

Just a FYI for anyone that thinks they have a plane "reserved" at Sig; I called yesterday and spoke to Becky and got a rude awakening. Evidently the other person who has been answering the phone the...

RE: *Sig Rascal 110 ???*

I think I'm going to follow cjbotox's suggestion and build too. I've got a pile of kindling (ex-Rascal) that I've been thinking about reverse-engineering into the components to use as patterns for a...

RE: *Sig Rascal 110 ???*

Just got off the phone with SIG; evidently the container with the planes is in Chicago right now and should be at SIG sometime soon. However, according to SIG, there are fewer Rascal's than they...

RE: rcexl new diy 26gt

Just a note of interest: I have had 3 of the Evolution 26GT's (all with straight plugs) in the past several years and all have had 2 magnets in their prop washers. It appears that only one of them is...

RE: rcexl new diy 26gt

Hughes500E,

Actually I didn't remove the old magnets but left them in situ. However, since they would trip the Hall sensor at the wrong time(s), I neutralized (i.e. de-magnetized) them with heat...

RE: rcexl new diy 26gt

I have just completed doing this conversion (new Evolution 26GT and a RCEXL ignition) myself a couple of weeks ago using the "stock" prop. washer and rare-earth magnets from Radio Shack (about $5.00...

RE: RCAero JC Engines & YDA Engines

Hey all!

As promised, this is the latest on the Aero 28 with the "dies-when-moved" problem:

Henry and I have conversed several times concerning the issue (new engine, runs and transitions...

RE: Evolution 26GX ignition question

The short answer is YES!! I was having trouble (again) with my Evolution ignition and so contacted C-H who had one for this engine. I had Terry ship one to me and since then (approx. 1 year) it's...

RE: RCAero JC Engines & YDA Engines

Hi all!

Well, first of all I want to thank everybody for their help and advice. So here's where it stands: I tried raising the reed block (thanks BadAzzMaxx) because fuel pooling in the reed...

RE: RCAero JC Engines & YDA Engines

Hi all!

I've been monitoring this and the other Aero board for a while and decided to get an Aero 28 which arrived a couple of weeks ago. What a beautiful engine! I've put it into a 1/4 scale...

RE: Cooling an Evolution 26GT

FWIW, I've been flying a 110 Rascal with an Evolution 26 for a couple of years (I fly at a minimum one day/week all year long) and have had no heating issues. I have cut a 3 1/2" opening from just...
