RE: Stumble or hesitate...

Stuck brush(es)? Maybe a weak battery as well. I'd loosen the mesh some and check all bushings/bearings on the truck to make sure it's a smooth roller.

RE: mamba max pro

I'd recommend getting 2.2 wheels, you'll need to drop that thing down a bit. I can say the hpi street truck tires will keep you stable at some of the higher speeds. Beyond 70, I couldn't tell you...

RE: stampede with diff lube = slower?

Definitely it's over geared for anything other than speed runs. I wouldn't run it like that for off roading. But if it's noticeably different now versus before, then I'd say whatever has been...

RE: stampede with diff lube = slower?

50+ is easy to say/think. But in reality, it's probably 40. He said he used to run it at that high of gearing, and it's alot slower acceleration than it was before using the new lube. I say check...

RE: vxl gearbox durability threshold

I'd say they are extremely tough. I've yet to destroy my metal gears and yolks runnin a MM 6900 on 3s, with a fairly tight slipper. Now I have seen one guy have problems with the internal diff...

RE: Ice-ing batteries

Lipo's really open up and seem to respond at or above 100 degrees. Keep em on the right side of 130 deg. and all should be safe. I think everything you know about batteries gets tossed out the window...

RE: ge

Yeah, but he'll still need the diff lube and stuff, so might as well buy the whole kit, assemble it and just swap out the diff, rather than having to disassemble the one he's got. Yeah, get wheel...

RE: ge

Transmission already has bearings, but what you should get is a steel idler and steel gear differential. That will eliminate the problem of stripping out the gears in the trans. case. The mamba max...

RE: Traxxas VXL speed?

Not much difference. It's all in the batteries. You'd notice significant increases in torque and speed with a 2s lipo, and a 3s would just put it over the edge. You'd also need to change your gearing...

RE: 5000 3s 25c packs are in at hobbycity!!!!!

I thought they gave you a motor choice, like 2200kv etc. Yeah, that is crazy expensive, perhaps when I get my ghetto rustler back into street running gear, we should drag race.

RE: Who goes for extended run times instead of max. speed?

I personally have a rustler with a 6900 kv and 3s for speed. But I do like runtime, so I have my stampede currently set up with a 13.5 and an 8000 mah 2s. Has just enough power for me to enjoy and...

Hey, noticed you're in Kent as well. What kind of motor is in your revo?

RE: 5000 3s 25c packs are in at hobbycity!!!!!

Seriously, I'd consider some other tire unless you like 50mph wheelies and tumbles. If you got a 2.2 street tire such as the hpi on road truck tires, they will eliminate wheelies and keep you...

RE: speed gun?

Garmin etrex is a very popular gps.

If you install some velcro straps so it keeps the gps sitting on top of the battery, that ought to hold it in there just fine. Probably better than how I have...

RE: speed gun?

The reward is being able to say, I can go X speed and not sound like an idiot on all the forums speculating how fast you can go and coming up with numbers that are way over exaggerated. Hot wheels...

RE: need help with reciever

Have you gone through the motions of a proper setup with the speed controller? The ESC and RX need to be paired up by usually hitting some sort of setup button the speed controller and setting your...

RE: Is this ESC / BEC diagram right?

The BEC plugs into your "batt" spot on your rx, the esc still plugs into your rx channel for throttle, but you need to slide the red wire out of the harness on the esc to rx so only the black and...

RE: novak brushless amp

Not necesarily, the better the battery, the better overall performance. When you dig into those peak amps, it's going to drain the lipo faster, thus dropping your overall voltage. You would actually...

Not 100%, but like 28 amps or so, maybe a split second 45 amp spike.

RE: castle overheat

X2 on LVC! You're probably suckin those nimh below lipo cutoff and need to disable the voltage cutoff if it's on. If you're sure it isn't that, I'd toss a fan on the esc or step up to mamba max if...

RE: Mamba Max 5700

Gearing for track or temps? I guess you could compare it to a 9t on steroids, if I remember correctly thats how they put it. Start with a 14 and work your way up or down if you think you need more...

RE: how much time do i got?

Hit or miss. Anywhere from 3 packs to 100. Speed gems 17 turn wouldn't be bad.

RE: t4 brushless gearing help

hchia gave you the answer you need. For a 13.5, which is a very popular motor for racing paired with a T4, you're going to want to leave the stock spur in and go with a about a 20 or so tooth pinion....

RE: 2S vs 3S lipo

See, I do just the opposite. I have my punch control disabled, have start power on high mainly for some temperature control on the ESC itself. I'd rather the motor get too hot than the esc. I don't...
