Yes is does have a manual control, which is how I have to set it up since my radio is only a 6C.

I sanded mine with some light sandpaper then sprayed a few coats of primer, then I laid on the paint. I have had no chipping issues

I would keep them more on the tight side of things..I learned the hard way an my heli sliced off the tail boom on a rough landing, which cost me about $200 to fix.

I have never used a 6 v system, but I am a laid back guy and always think...why mess with something that works great for me. I just picked up 2 brand new batteries off ebay for $20 for the 4.8 v...

I have the same problem with mine too, what is also interesting is that one of my battery packs that I use it on, it will always show that the battery is dead (red light) eventhough I just charged...
