RE: Standing position for take off

Not allowed at our club and dangerous. Also, taking off behind your plane never teaches you the proper visual perspective of the runway and takeoff. Just my opinion.

RE: 2nd airplane choice after trainer?

If a Stik isn't cool enough or you want something more resembling a scale plane I recommend the Seagull .46 size PC9. It builds easy, fly's great, it's inexpensive, and can use all the gear from your...

RE: Seagull ARF Planes

Ditto on the above positive comments!! I currently own about 4-5 different ARFs from Seagull and all built easily, everything fit the first time, and parts in the box were never missing or damaged....

RE: Hangar 9 P-51 Mustang pts

I learned to fly on an H9 PTS Mustang (the original Marie yellow tail one). I love that plane so much that last week I actually rebuilt mine (crashed about 2 years ago by me while teaching someone...

RE: F4U CORSAIR RC

If you can a 100 size 4 stroke (OS or Saito) has good power for a 60 size corsair. If your building a Corsair ARF like the Hangar 9 then even a 91 size 4 stroke will be good because they build pretty...

RE: Throttle stick position while flying!!!

I know RC and real flying are different but in the area of throttle management, I fly my rc planes just like I fly the fullsize ones. And that is, I use maxium throttle (or close to it) at takeoff...

RE: Evo 61nx vs O.S. 65AX

Yes, I have 2 75AXs mounted in some warbirds (in place of 61s). I bought them before the 65AXs were available. If you're thinking of a 65AX then better to spend the extra few dollars for the 75ax....

RE: motor option for a seagull at-6

Yeah. An OS 61 will be perfect. The Seagull ARFs build pretty light so the lower end of the power range will be just right.

RE: H9 F4U Corsair Maiden

You need a set of Lado Retracts. I use them in all my hangar 9 planes. They make a big difference. And you can now get struts from lado that are a perfect fit. Check out Magnum RC for the retracts...

RE: NEW H9 P51 Mustang 60 ARF

The 2 stroke 1.20 is waaaay to much motor for the plane. A 4 stroke 1.20 or 1.25 would be the better choice. Especially the Saito. Better than scale power, a perfect fit in the cowl, great sound, and...

RE: NEW H9 P51 Mustang 60 ARF

Are you talking about the 1.20 OS FX 43 Stroke or the 120 2 stroke? The 2 stroke 120 pitts muffler won't fit in the cowl. You'll have to cut the cheeks of the cowl out on both sides because the P51...

RE: NEW H9 P51 Mustang 60 ARF

Yes, a 95ax will work. I have one in my P51. The 95ax produces about the same power as a Saito 115-125. The only things is that it was a pain to tune. It needs a hotter glow plug (I think I settled...

RE: 60 Size Rotating Electric Retracts????

I spoke with the manufacturer of Lado's (in France) about a week ago. Magnum should have everything back in stock in aout a week or so. Otherwise, you can always order direct from Lado. He'll ship...

RE: New Top Flite P-40 60 sized arf

It will actually fit a 26cc gasser as the cowl is pretty big and has a big chin.

RE: New Top Flite P-40 60 sized arf

Yep, tower has been shipping them for about 2-3 weeks now. I got mine a few weeks ago. Haven't had a chance to start building - vacation until today. It's getting built next week though. Needs...

RE: Electric Retracts From E-flite

It means the retract extends to either 80 degrees or 90 degrees from full up to full down. There are multiple sizes to account for the dihedral in some wings. A plane like a p51 with a slight upward...

RE: Lado retracts would you ?

Hey Christophe.

Thanks for the followup. I'm looking for some for those hangar 9 planes. But it would be great if something could be made with a way to change the length even if it was in a...

RE: Lado retracts would you ?

We need struts that don't requiring drilling two set screw holes. Something that already has the mounting bar installed. Any ideas on that?

RE: H9 T-34 Engine/Prop?

I own one. Great little plane. I couldn't get an os55 in there. Required alot of surgery on the front end. I put an OS46 AX and it was more than enough motor for it. Went with the standard OS46 prop...
