i would lean towards a non torque tube unless you are absolutely positive you wont be striking tail blades.

swampd. here is a pic of my baby extra with an r.c. engine
the prop is right at the 6 1/2 mark. you can tell how much space i got from prop to cowl how close 6 1/2 is

the cowl ring mounting. just a trial fit. didnt dig for the bolts to hard mount it. its tight fit. it aint going anywhere once its mounted. took a little shimmying to line it up then...

im using the 2 tx sized case from tower hobbies but only keep 1 tx in it. i made a little compartment on the "empty" side to keep my ama card, tx strap, screw driver and wrench for my electric flying...
