Nothing breaks, seriously. Get the XL for jumping. Its so much better than the X because of its longer and wider wheelbase. I bashed the living daylights out of my XL and nothings ever broke on it.

For the turnbuckle problem, I just put some washers on the screw and havent had a problem yet with them popping out.

Definitely not a basher. My friend had one and its not as durable as a Savage in my opinion.

I just bought a Savage XL and went bashing. Wow was I missing out! I got rid of all my nitros and electrics for the 5b but after riding the Savage, I shouldnt of. Care free bashing days are here...

I dont know why people hate nitro's so much. If tuned right, they will run forever and dont need to be messed with. I had an XTM 457 engine and it was on gallon 12 when I sold it and still running...

I understand what your saying cause I used to be the guy who said "I hate nitro, I am all about 1/5 scale" but things have changed. I am now selling my 5b and getting back into nitro. I cant wait...

I have the Hpi 5b and it breaks too. Ive changed both shock towers to aluminum, RPM arms all the way around, chassis braces, and bunch of other stuff. My point is that HPI or clone, they will break...

Ill be honest and just because I have a 5B I will try not to be biased. They are fun but if you are into hardcore bashing, then get the Flux. Ive changed just about every suspension part on my baja...

Look into the HPI Baja 5b or 5t (truck version). They come RTR and are probably the best bashers for 5th scale. Product support is awesome, you can find parts anywhere and most local hobby shops...

I dont have an XST my self but have seen them. The 24.7 motor is a durable motor, just not the fastest. The servos are plastic but you have to remember this is a RTR and marked at a very good price...

I'm a fan of XTM and the XST is a good truggy and pretty durable. The engine isnt all that (as in speed but its a durable engine) and the stock servos will go out on you, but its not like its a 500...
