RE: WACO YMF

Hey, Bill -

THANKS! That move it to the top of the list. I'll let you know. The only thing I know so far is that I've never once yet stopped anywhere I planned on stopping, but I can sure give...

RE: WACO YMF

Thanks, but I did get the FAA situation under control and they did go ahead and issue my Letter of Authorization, so now there's no problem flying as far as they're concerned. These days I just deal...

RE: WACO YMF

I'd really enjoy making the AWC fly-in... but it's looking about 80-20 against. I'm a member, have been since before I got a WACO, and all those folks have been incredibly kind and helpful, so it was...

RE: WACO YMF

Hey, All:

Don't get me wrong about the ride from FL to CA - I fully appreciate how privileged I am to be the guy making it. I was just commenting on an East-West flight in a 120 mph bipe against...

RE: WACO YMF

Hey, Bill:

At the moment I'm down at Pompano Beach, however the plane is apart for an inspection, a new carb and an oil cooler installation (man, it's been hot here lately!), and soon after...

RE: WACO YMF

On the full-scale YMF the LE is sheet metal, and the pinking tape ends where the edge does some inches aft of the LE. If specifics are useful, let me know and I'll measure. Outboard, the sheet metal...

RE: WACO YMF

I don't have many pictures of the airplane, but I posted a few of N99Y in the Gallery....

RE: WACO YMF

Hey, Rick:

I've been based with another aircraft at Santa Monica for about 15 years, but this WACO, which I bought in pieces a year ago, has never been there. I'm a ride operator, and haven't...

RE: WACO YMF

As far as the aluminized sides on the more recent aircraft go, I don't know at which serial number they began building them that way new. It's possible that it was as far back as Number 5, though my...

RE: WACO YMF

I'd be very interested to hear about the development of this project. How did you come to choose N99Y? Did it have anything to do with 99Y's having been the first production airplane of the modern...

RE: WACO YMF

Greetings, All:

I was surprised to see that anyone's using my biplane's tail number - N99Y - for a RC WACO, but that's great, and if I can be of any help, please let me know. N99Y has the bump...
