RE: 2.5 cutting off

I have yet to meet a 2.5 that was weak, only mis-tuned.

RE: 2.5 cutting off

If using 20% I'd highly recommend the Traxxas Long Plug or an MC-8 or MC-59. An A5 is an excellent plug but I wouldn't recommend an OS plug for a Traxxas engine, every OS plug I have used has been 20...

RE: 2.5 cutting off

I'm sure there may be people using the Megatech plugs but I don't know anyone in my neck of the woods who does or would recommend them. The Traxxas and McCoy plugs are tried and true, with the...

RE: 2.5 cutting off

wakbrdr, not sure if you pin-pointed the issue or issues, but if not I'd suggest getting a different plug first chance. If you are in fact using a Megatech plug, consider picking up a McCoy MC-59 and...

RE: Diff Locking Grease - FOUND IT !!!

jefx,

The initial reason behind slowing our rear spider gears down was to allow us to fly into a corner and set up for it like you would on a dirt oval track. Slowing the spider gears down...

RE: Diff Locking Grease - FOUND IT !!!

That stuff is absolutely gnarly! I was told that it seeps out so I was hesitant to try it but when I did finally get some and tried it out for a few months I went back to the Bad Horsie grease...

RE: weak springs??

Dude! Those are spacers for adjusting ride height only. You can put spacers on your shocks all day, it won't give you stiffer springs, just higher ride height. Imagine taking a spring off your shock...

RE: weak springs??

You can stuff spacers in all ya want. The only thing a spacer can be used for is ride height only. You can compress a spring to any given length, it will still give the same spring rate. The only way...

RE: best head for 2.5

Excellent advice indeed. Buying an aftermarket head will only magnify your current problems. Keep the stock filter and consider a different fuel such as PowerMaster or Traxxas fuels, your engine will...

RE: Newb

You can make do with most any 7.2 Volt flat pack but if you want real power, you'll want to consider an ESC upgrade and a pair of packs fom here. These are some of the nicest packs around and very...

RE: .15 to 2.5 conversion kit

Yup.

Technically, the .15 to 2.5 conversion is actually an engine conversion from the old TRX .15 to the new TRX 2.5, the modification you want to make is simply adding a "wide-maxx" suspension...

RE: .15 to 2.5 conversion kit

Longer CVD's are required. You don't have to pay $50 for turnbuckles either. I have seen nice front/rear sets sell for anywhere between $25 - $35. If you check out the ebay Stores you can surely find...

RE: Awesome. Good info guys...

When you get to the point where putting balloons over your springs becomes a real pain(especially when they keep tearing and looking like crud), consider some real shock covers Shock Covers, they're...

RE: Shock oil

mrjason82

Many trade-offs between oil weights and spring rates to consider. The stock spring rate won't offset the dampening of the oil weight your LHS recommended if it's over 45 or so, at...

RE: .15 to 2.5 conversion kit

You need three things. Longer A-Arms, Longer CVD's and longer turnbuckles. The proline suspension is very nice and many people use it. My reason for mentioning my set up is that it is used even more...

RE: .15 to 2.5 conversion kit

I use RPM's 2.5 a-arms and Dynamites CVD's with rubber boots on two of my Maxx's. Lifetime warranty with RPM and the rubber boots on the Dynamite CVD's keep the dirt out and the lubrication in....

RE: A MUST BUY FOR T-MAXX OWNERS!!!!

I guess we continue to agree to disagree on the venturi theory. Otherwise I agree 100%. The only point I wanted to make is that the engine longevity takes a hit when forcing it to take more airflow...

RE: A MUST BUY FOR T-MAXX OWNERS!!!!

You are correct about venturi when referencing the 2.5 carb intake. But I disagree that the filter is redundant in design, you even mentioned yourself that it would create a smoother transition....

RE: A MUST BUY FOR T-MAXX OWNERS!!!!

Iv'e seen people use the foam covers on their 1:1 scale and ATV K&N filters for years, I haven't seen em' made for anything smaller before.

Do you think it's possible that LHS's are ordering MS...

RE: A MUST BUY FOR T-MAXX OWNERS!!!!

You have my interest. Is this a modified Crank Case Breather? What kind of internal element does he use or is it the classic K&N gauze-type? Any links?
