Well.... Good news. After overlaying the damaged canopy over the new, I trimmed an extra 1/8" around the edges. The initial fit was very good. After a bit more trimming, it is going to work great!...

That's how I discovered how different they are. I ordered one from Horizon and noted how different it was. I then split the canopy in half thinking a center post down the front wouldn't be so bad. ...

I had the same problem with a 2300 mAh battery, wouldn't fit. I had a spare 2100 mAh Thunder Power battery that slid right in. Comparing sizes, the 2300 was about 1/2" longer and a bit thicker....

P.S. Note: Cowling is custom fiberglass from eps plug turned on a lathe. Stock cowling is ugly and heavy, so I made my own. I can't help but tinker with ARF's.:D

Recently completed Modelfly (Falcon Trading Company ) Beaver. Maiden flight 3-31-07 required two clicks of down trim. Dead on at 8 lbs with OS .46. Flies great!
